I see you have the 3K Naniwa. YMMV, but you may find with use that you can go from the 1K to the 5K. I've never owned or used the 3K, however, it's commonly thought that the 3K is an unnecessary step. See how you go, and enjoy.

Well I figured that with me PCSing to Korea and with how long it takes to ship things back and forth it would be practical for me to learn how to hone. Especially seeing how I've rolled 2 edges from incorrect stropping technique.

I added the 3k in there because I was unsure about the jump from 1k to 5k. If all else fails I can use it with my knives lol

Ugh, I promised myself to stop buying razors and shaving gear until 2017.
