Super creamy lather. Best combination of slickness and cushion I've experienced.

So, I received my Phoenix DOC razor today and shaved with it tonight. As I begin, I nick myself, which I haven't done in probably a year or more. I realize I am really having trouble figuring out the right shaving angle on this. It is really irritating my skin and I am barely using any pressure. I thought people said this is a very mild razor? I have shaved with a Muhle R41 without irritating my skin!

I checked to make sure the head was screwed on all the way (it was) and found the real culprit. The top cap is bent up on one side making the blade crooked and loose. Check out the photo. Worst shave ever. Stuff happens with suppliers, so I am not bashing Phoenix. Just a word of warning to check the less expensive razors for consistent blade gap and exposure before shaving with them. I usually do, but didn't this time and got burned -- literally.

that thing is pretty banged up.

What a great way to kick off a Thursday morning. So much "manliness" going on here, I don't know if I can handle it. Wishing I hadn't already shaved today. 

I picked up three razors this week and I'm not certain about what I have. I'm pretty sure one is a New Long Comb, another I believe is a Fat Handle Gold Tech and I believe the final one is a 1941 Aristocrat. The Aristocrat has no notches in the center bar and nothing stamped on the inside of the baseplate. There are no endcaps either, though I suppose they could've been removed. Any ideas?

It sounds like you have a 46-47 aristocrat. That's when they did the center bar with no notches. You can read more about them here:
