Got to give him credit for taking on such a difficult project. I love shaving with the Toggle but they are probably the highest maintenance razor out there and they also gunk up very quickly. I've sent two of mine out to Cap for a revamp and he's told me a few nightmare stories about how easily they can break and how difficult they are to work on. I also love the feel of the Toggle in hand so my one concern is the larger size of the Janus so I'm following his progress on this razor and I hope he does well with it.

This is a real good read Gents. Technical and a bit boring perhaps (though not for me as I'm a machinist myself) but, this thing will happen and the progress has been slow but steady. Packaging vendors are in the works and there just might be testers recruited in the very near future. Grab a cup of coffee, frosty beverage, Scotch or Whiskey hell, a cold glass of milk will do and click on the link below for more interesting info....

I subscribed so I got that email also. I'll never be a tester because I'm not going to be a buyer, but it has been fun following the whole process. I'm out on price alone. I like shaving and premium razors, but that thing is a little TOO premium for my wallet.

I will be interested to hear what eventual buyers do think of it though.

At the price point you are looking at a very narrow retail base.

Like all the folks on the Wolfman and CG wait list, folks that got a Raw, OneBlade, or anyone subscribed to their mail list?

Yeah like that, a very narrow base indeed. You talking about a niche segment, within a niche market.

I was subscribed to their newsletter mostly to see them talk about the progress they made in getting a product from concept to market which was truly an interesting read (and they did it without a Kickstarter campaign). I eventually unsubscribed as I saw the project was probably going to get completed and so now I just wait for the next thread that says the Janus was released and all the folks that got one and start showing pics and reviewing them on this forum. Yes, it will be a niche within a niche and a very small retail base, but these folks seem to be very detail oriented and so will probably produce according to demand and price accordingly. I really don't see this project as being another Rockwell Model T.

Agreed. A thorough and methodical approach from concept to near completion. From the mind of an engineer that was precise and deliberate from the beginning with an eye on some historical and functional view. Wasn't easy and some bumps along the way but, an analytical approach solved one problem at a time. Solve it and move on to next one. No half-ass work done here. I can appreciate that....

Will it be for everyone? No. Will it be quite expensive? Is a frogs ass watertight? I fell in love with it the moment the idea was put to prototyping. Looking forward to hopefully acquiring one...

I don't plan on buying 1 myself but I do respect the engineering and labor that went into producing them.

Have to be dedicated to want to manufacture those razors. Was never a huge fan of the design. Bought and sold quite a few over the years. Just never clicked.

Hope he brings a quality product to market and finds his audience.
