My first Varlet and fortunate on timing to select this pour and variation. And by complete chance, I also picked up a basically new DG B15 from the secondary market. Eagerly awaiting the arrival of both of these brushes.

Congrats- it’s a ymmv thing, but each as good as it gets in my opinion.

I acquired this mostly as a consequence of reading mrdoug ’s frequent praise. I’ll try it tomorrow. I have high hopes. It seems well made and designed and might just overcome my general dislike of aluminum razors. It’s certainly nicely finished and eliminates the sharp edges often found on machined aluminum. Handle is very nice.  I’m not sure why some razor makers include a tuck of the cheapest blades they can find. You’d think they would want a buyer to have the best initial experience possible. You’re probably better not including blades than crappy blades especially for first time wet shavers. Experienced shavers likely won’t use the included blades. If you feel you must include blades, do like Blackland Razors  does and include Personna Lab Blues which are respectable blades by any measure.  But I digress, I’m hopeful of a decent shave with the Henson tomorrow. I’ll use my normal Feather blade.

Yikes Mark, I hope it lives up to your expectations.

I stopped using the Henson and went with the Overlander a long while ago. As I'm a 1 razor guy, I had to choose. lol. That said, it remains a good razor, IMO.

I recently got an opportunity to try the Mild, as a friend bought one in the new design (like you got, with the curved ends). It was a great shave. I almost went and bought one myself, it was that good.

Thus, I have high hopes for you. Please share your thoughts (and expletives, if I somehow steered you wrong, lol).

No pressure  Big Grin   To be fair, I've heard from other people as well that it's a decent shaver - my son's barber in Sudbury is a head shaver and he loves it.  We'll see.  I really like how the Rockwell 6S shaves but its such and ugly razor which is ok but it would be nice to get both beauty and great shave in one.
