Does anyone know if there is much difference in the Brut EDC in the plastic bottles and the Brut in the glass bottles with the metal medallion that is currently made?

Mine is plastic bottle, Brut "classic" in green banner, and beneath the label says just "aftershave"

It's a 5 oz bottle.

And now that you mention it, looking at the ingredients, it has menthol as the 6th of 9 ingredients. I knew I felt it, so this one indeed has it in the ingredients.

I loved the scent as a kid, hated it as a teen. As mentioned that could be either a change in formulation, or a change in my use habits. I'm really not sure which...

Naturally, when I started traditional shaving, it was one of the first after-shave splashes I picked up. I use it quite frequently these days. I LOVE the way it smells, and it really provides a very decent post-shave experience. Not too drying or tightening, but a definite toning of my scalp, and the scent sticks around just long enough to put a smile on my face...

I know much has been said about "ageism" and "classic" scents, but there is a reason why these brands stay on the market, like grim mentioned. I think I have learned since my high school days that more isnt always better, especially with potent, pervasive scents. Pretty sure moderation helps in that regard. I was just too afraid of its strength to buy any until recently. I am pretty happy I did. Now if they made a half strength Clubman, that would be nice.

And sticking with just scents, which I know little of, I guess that's why items like Clubman and straight up varieties of Bay Rum continue to thrive. Meanwhile, in the "artisan" market, AS scents come and go with the seasons. I still got a clubman AS. It works. And a Bay Rum. It works, etc. AS scents that are the scent of the month? Probably off the market in a quarter or so.

So hang onto that Brut ... Wink

The stuff in the glass bottles is a full Eau de Toilette, and rather smoother than the stuff that comes in the plastic. For its remarkably low price, I highly recommend picking it up. It's very nice.

Thanks. I often see the glass bottles for under 10 bucks. I need to pick one up. I know there is one in a blue bottle and black as well.

I wonder if I will be bored of it by spring? I have fancier, more expensive stuff on the shelf getting jealous over this economical ASL.

Maybe switch to using it twice a week? Three times? Just so you don't tire yourself out so quickly.

If you like the scent of Brut but want it to be stronger, pick up the Brut Special Reserve. It is very potent, 1-2 sprays will last all day. Big Lots had a set that had Brut SR, Brut Black, and Brut Blue for under $10 which is a good deal. The Brut black smells like fresh laundry in a good way. Have yet to find the red Brut that is supposedly meant to smell like Fahrenheit.
