I'm not sure I fully understand what you mean here, but I can assure you that Instashaving has no affiliation with Brian Twilley or his Charcoal Goods Razors companies. And the name instashaving is the name on my insta account, feel free to check it out. And that I'm trying to find out if there is any interest in getting Charcoal Goods Razors back on the market is an initiative of my own, and he is not informed about this tread. Well, not by me at least. The best thing for me was if he came on the scene and opened a pre-order to see if there was enough interest, that would save me a lot of work just to get a CG razor. I just want to see these gorgeous razors back on the market, at least until I get to buy the ones I want. And I'm quite flexible, i will probably buy what he offers. Well, not the Everyday Shaving razor that on is not for me.

We are all different.  I picked up an Everyday along with an additional Level 2 plate (which I believe was Gen 3) before he closed shop.  Others have informed me that this is one of the best shavers he produced.  Certainly, the Everyday razor is one of my favorite shavers (and I am comparing it with the Paradigm Diamondback and H&S etc.).  Insofar as aesthetics are concerned, his work on Gen 1 and 2 was superior to Gen 3 IMHO, particularly when it comes to the patina he created.

I would be tempted by the Stinger Handle with a head in a Gen 1 or 2 style, all in brass with forced patina.  I would also like to pick up a copper head to match my copper CG torpedo handle. In each case I would opt for a mild level base plate.

Just want to emphasize that I was thinking of the current Everyday Shaving razor, not the Charcoal goods everyday razor. I have one Charcoal goods everyday razor gen 3 level 3 on the way that i have just bought used.

Now I understand.  The Charcoal Goods Everyday is a really good razor IMO.  I don't have any idea how the new one shaves but its looks leave a lot to be desired.

I would probably purchase one of his razors and some plates in copper if they were to be made available again.

The "medium" side is pretty mild, and the "mild" side was virtually unusable for me because it was so mild. Here's a thread with a few reviews:

I thought he retired. Did he stop making razors because it was not profitable? I bought a Gen 3 level 2 and 3. Both work fine for me. I see debates on gen 1 vs gen 2 vs gen 3 so who knows. The gen 3 shaves fine for me. I wonder why he kept changing the design...

I would love to get one of Brian's Gen 1 Level 3 SB or OC head. I had both plates. but sold them a few years ago, and have regretted it, ever since.
It was an incredibly efficient shaver(s) and it looked great, especially, in photos.  Big Grin

He did release a note where he listed the thinking behind his decision. I'm sure it's kicking
around on some forum.

I seem to remember it was during the thick of the Covid lockdown carnage, which took a heavy toll on small
business owners...and, in some cases, their health.

Funnily, when he was a going concern, the interest in his products was steady but not off the charts.

Now that he's ceased production, the secondary market has shot up...and that has made it difficult for anyone
wanting to get his goods at a reasonable price.

Hence, the move to get him back. (Well, that's my theory, anyway.)

In his post on DFS a few weeks ago, therealbriantwilley  said, "I retired the Charcoal Goods brand at the beginning of 2023 as it had become a distraction to my larger machining operations."
