Forum Members: This Thread Is For The OG's The Heavy Hitters, If You Have Had & Used 20+ D.E. Razors.
Those that Have Been Around The Block & Know What They Like And Why!

What Razors Do You Keep In Regular Rotation... Now I have my Favorite The one I would use on a Desert Island. The Daily Driver.

BUT! - We All Know Our Faces Get Used To What We Use Everyday. So It is Necessary To Confuse Your Beard, And Throw In The
Change Up! With Different Razors & Blades... I Have 3 Razors + 1 Occasional, And 4 Different Blades.

I have Bought & Own Over 2 Dozen, and Tried for Extended Periods.. 30 Different Blades! And Here Is Where I Am To Start Things Off:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RAZORS:

1. Timeless SS .68 Solid Bar w/ 85mm Barber Pole Handle and Ribbed Top Cap Polished. - Can Use As A E.D.D. + Responds well To different Blades;
2. RazoRock Game Changer P.84 w/ Consul Handle - Not the Smoothest but Very Close Shaves w/ No Irritation. Shallow Head Easy Access To Upper Lip / Nose Area. Good Blade Feel - Agile.
3. Gillette 1960 Fatboy Rebuilt w/ Rhodium Plating. -  Set to #5. Great Shaver... Great Blade Feel - The Razor for the Accomplished Shaver * A Favorite!
3 1/2. *Occasional Use - Timeless SS. .95 Solid Bar w/ 12mm X 85mm Knurled Handle Smooth Top Cap. - Closest Shave & Smooth But if used more than Once A Week Irritation will Occur.

*Will Be - Throwing A WOLFMAN WR2 SB 1.15 w/WRH2 Full Polish. Into The Mix That Is On Order! I'm Expecting It To Be In Regular Rotation. But You Never know.... We Will See.

BLADES:

1. ASTRA - I Can't Believe The Amount Of Blades That I've Tried... This Always Winds Up On Top... Super Sharp/Smooth/ No Irritation & Lasts Although I Stop @ 3 - 3 Pass Shaves
2. Feather - The Closest Shaves - Smooth & Irritation Free with Proper Care & Prep, and Limited Use.
3. Gillette Nacet - Maybe 3rd Place in Sharpness - Fairly Smooth - A passible Substitute To Change Things Up.
4. Permasharp - Decently Sharp, but not up To the Top 3. A Smooth DFS that Can Be used Everyday w/o Irritation. I throw it in the Timeless .68 SB to give my face A Break, and Prep me for Some BBS Shaves For Important, or Long Days / Holidays Etc. If It's Stay @ Home Pizza & Movie Night This is the Combo I go to...

Hope You Enjoyed Reading & Got Something Out of it.

Now Keeping the Same Format - Have At It!! Smile

Thanks Tony!

Honored that you Two were the First to post, and you certainly are Heavy Hitters! Big Grin

Tester I would Keep those other 2... It's better to give your Beard as many differences as you can...

Thanks, Tony

This'll be fun.
Razors:
1) Gillette New Long Comb.  I try other razors and this one always comes to the top.  I favor the fat handle but have the ball end too.
2) Rockwell 6S plate 5
3) RR Game Changer but I find it very smooth.
4) 1960 Fat Boy in such great condition I'll never have to replate it.
5) and finally the Jagger DE 89.  The darn thing just shaves so well.

All of mine are razors I could drive daily without irritation.

Blades:  I tend to drive the sharper blades.
1) Polsilver Super Iridium
2) Permasharp
3) Nacet
4) Feather
5) Astra SP or Stainless.
Although a recent purchase of Gillette Platinum may bump one off the top five.

Razors:

* Gillette New Deluxe on Ikon Bulldog 85mm matte finish handle - My go to razor. Smooth as silk and efficient enough to give me a BBS every time.
* Gillette Old Type on Razorock Barber Pole handle - My previous go to razor before the New Deluxe.
* Schone Open Comb - Cheap, made of brass and a nice smooth comfortable shave.
* Gillette Single Ring - Gotta like the thin cap.
* Gillette Slim Adjustable H3 - My birth quarter razor. I normally don't like TTO's but I found this razor to give me a nice shave. And I feel like James Bond when using it.

Blades:

* Gillette Silver Blue - My go to blade for some time now.
* Polsilver SI - A recent addition to my favorite blades.
* Voskhod - My favorite before I found the GSBs. My teenage son prefers these.

I don't know if I'd classify myself as a 'heavy hitter,' but I have a lot of razors and blades. As for the rotation, it depends, it is sort of hard for me to pin it down. Lately it would be Wolfman, Charcoal, Timeless, Blackbird. Occasionally my old favorite, one of the many slant head razors I have, a Merkur, or the Wunderbar. Could be a Weber or a Barbasol, even an old Gillette. For years it was mainly straight razors, but not for the past couple of years.

Blades would be the 'usual suspect' ... The Feather, Gillette Swede, Platinum, Blue or 7 O'Clock Yellow, Polisilver, Nacet, on and on. As with the razors, too many to list.

OMG....me, a heavy hitter? NO way...Ive tried maybe 20-30 razors, but I get uneasy seeing so many
lying around. I mean, how many do you need? My pops used to have just one...a Fatboy I think.

Lately Im on a 'fewer but better things' kick.

I won't miss the CG Lvl 2 but selling the UK Red Tip might be a move to regret.

I'm guessing the above post refers to me ? Anyway ... I look at the herd and one of them calls to me. I don't know how else to explain it.   Rolleyes
