Yes, thats good to see that they didn't sellout in seconds. The review of the X3 that I saw by Leisure Guy said it was indistinguishable from the ikon 102 shave wise. He had an earlier prototype, now we have to see if that holds true for the production model. If true, it would make me very happy as the 102 is my current favourite razor.

That is good news. I loved the 102 as did many. Like you this notion of low numbers creating high demand is getting old. This round my dollar goes to those who can provide for all rather than the few. Aggressive marketing and low production numbers is never good for the common consumer, so I'm taking a purchasing break AFTER my slant arrives from maggard....baby steps.

Wasn't he testing the X3 next to the stainless slant or did he do both?
Best regards,

I'm really excited to try the X3 after a disappointing experience with the Wunderbar.

Greg makes wonderful razors. Hope he figures out the other side and grows up.

I thankfully missed that "dog and Pony show" so my only knowledge is my razor experience. I couldn't find a single thing wrong with any of them, and I have owned them all, so I am optimistic about the new slant. Besides for $59 bucks if it works well, a deal and a steal!

That is a great price. Can't wait to try it. Greg's Shavecraft line might be the best made today.

I think you will really like it. The top cap goes on either way. No lining up marks to make it work. No blade alignment issues and any blade works pretty good although Feather and Voskhod are my choices.

I saw a post with the 102 so its possible he did both - I stopped reading him after yet another of his anti-semogue boar brush rants. I love those brushes and I don't understand why he was having such a bad time but to trash the whole brand? Him the king of YMMV? Too much.

vtmax tell me about your Wunderbar experience - I was really interested in that one but the release was unimpressive and I've not heard anything positive from anyone who got one. I haven't heard much at all as a matter of fact.

The X3 head only is available at Italian Barber for US$29.99 - good deal. I'm hoping these are good because this form of release where there seems to be plenty of razors available at multiple vendors is alien to me. What a concept? I've been conditioned to expect scarcity so of course I jumped at the first one I found which as it turns out because of FX and shipping from the US etc wasn't my best option. Sad Oh well, thats one less tub of soap I can buy.
