I perceive the Ikon Tech as far more aggressive than the Fatip, more aggressive than the R41 but not an order of magnitude. Faces and beards and shaving habits are too varied in my opinion to make much out of others' opinions about smoothness.

I personally believe the ikon tech is probably the most aggressive DE on the market right now.

I enjoyed my iKon Tech when I had it. It was the most finicky of all razors I've tried as far as blade goes - you had to use a smooth blade or it would bite.

Two things I couldn't get over with the iKon Tech though:
1) I have a goatee and for some reason, my goatee hairs would get caught on and pulled by the blade corners of the Tech.
2) I wet shave because it's enjoyable and the Tech takes so much concentration and attention, that I lost the fun aspect of it all.

It's a very (maybe overly?) efficient razor and has it's place in the right hands, but I'm just fine taking my aggressive a tad below the R41 these days.

The seller razormoxie sells the Ikon Tech heads, handles, and razor stand on eBay. Just an FYI for those of you interested in purchasing one.

Shaved with my Tech today when I got home from work. Excellent 2.5 pass shave resulting in DFS. 2 passes is normally all I need for DFS. I just picked up the razor stand from eBay. Fits like a glove. [Image: 1f858a26c0353476c92d7640c821c001.jpg]

The invoice in the package leads me to believe it's sold directly from Ikon as well.

I managed to get a Tech from Fendrihan a couple of weeks ago. I used it twice last week. I'm not sure I'll use it again. I thought, foolishly as it turns out, that as I had become more or less proficient with the ikon short comb, which I had been led to believe was essentially a DOC Tech, that I could finally handle the Tech. Nope. I don't wet shave as a daily dare to see how close I can come to disaster but rather as an enjoyable, meditative daily ritual. I'm back to my Rockwell 6s on plate #4 with a Polsilver Super Iridium blade and let me tell you, I got an awesome shave with that set up today on a bed of Nuavia Rosso. Who needs more WMD.

I looked for months hoping the Tech would be available, and then I found one on a fourm buy sell trade. Glad I did very efficient and gives a nice long lasting BBS. If you have a tough beard it's worth a try and worth the search effort. I use it with a full 3 pass + an extra on the neck, yeilds a BBS for maybe 14 hours and DFS to about 17 for me.

Also +1 for razormoxie. I purchased an Ikon B1 awhile back, super deal with very quick shipping.
