On James' site under the "Availability" tab there's this, "Taking orders again in 2016.   Currently expecting to take more orders starting  in January or February, depending when the current orders are completed.   There may be a short break to create a new design prototype but after that production will resume."

Betcha that "new design prototype" will be a slant! Any takers?

I'd probably buy a slant from him..or if there was a SE OC razor...

That wait list won't ever get any shorter if he keeps innovating.

his products seem to be held in such high regard that I don't think the wait list matters for a lot of people. I'd be ok with waiting for quality.

As someone who is about to buy that Renoir (another thread), I should write James and offer him about $2K to put me at the head of the next list... Just kidding! Big Grin

idk about an SE model, but there are slant open comb razors out there.

the SE open comb razor I've been using lately is the gillette guard. I'm not going to lie, I like it a lot.

Andrew; I just opted out of a place on the Mongoose list mainly because I was reluctant to inventory another blade type. Foolish, I guess, since the search for a better shave is ongoing and worth whatever it takes to achieve it (even if only for a little while).

Reminds me of golf. You can be playing the best golf of your life, yet you're out on the range trying to iron out that 'one thing' that will make you better. Seems to be the "human condition".
