Hey everyone!

I’m David, the owner of Hub City Soap Company and I appreciate all of y’all’s feedback and words of encouragement on this journey. I appreciate any and all feedback on my products. I am by no means a professional soapmaker but through my testing stages (late 2019-early spring 2020) I intentionally asked veteran wetshavers (and other soapmakers) for their unbiased and unfiltered feedback. Admittedly, this isn’t an easy thing to do because not all feed back is positive but that has helped me grow and shaped me into the hobbyist artisan that I am today. Just over a year ago, I never imagined I’d have online and in-store retailers both domestically and internationally. This is encouragement to me to continue doing what I’m doing in my own little section of the wetshaving community amongst other fantastic artisans whom I will always support as well.

Wow...lots of words. Lol

I say all that to say this, I am extremely grateful for how I’ve been received in the community and thank you to those who have shown me your support through orders or even just kind words. I hope that if you haven’t tried HCSC I can earn your support in the near future and that you have great shaves!

I’ve always wanted to be available so please feel free to reach out to me I tend to use Facebook, Instagram, and Reddit more. I’m on FB (@hubcitysoapcompany and David Lopez-Cepero), Instagram (@hubcitysoapcompany and dlopezcepero) and Reddit (u/hubcitysoapcompany and u/dlopezcepero).

Have a great day!

Hey! The smoke note is not prominent in FNL. It’s in the background but a sweetish opening into a charred woody type scent. You can wear this around people easily.

Ray...you’re good man :-)

I’m glad you posted about your experiences with top tier artisan soaps. Everyone’s experiences are their own and can’t be discredited because they are YOUR experiences. Thanks for your input and I’m happy that HCSC is in your short list of top tier soaps.

Hi David, thanks for the feedback. I actually like a little smoke in a scent. THB did some nice ones, sandalwood smoke and cracklin Rosie. It has to be a subtle note much the same as smoking meat on a smoker-a hint is nice. Too much is nauseating.  I’ll give this one a try. I’m up in Canada so I’ll get it from one of those northern vendors. Shipping costs you know.

Hey Marko!

Totally understand. Smoke is difficult. It can be appealing and off-putting at the same time. Haha

Definitely check out either TotC or Stonefield!

Thanks!

I looked at the offerings on the web site several days ago.  There were a number that interested me.  So I ordered samples - Thank you David.

Yesterday they arrived.

Pages, Red Cabin in the Woods, Aegyptus, and Ideal Man.

I had passed shaving yesterday morning, so I chose to shave last evening.  That's not something I typically do, but I wanted to try the new soap!

At my sweetheart's urging, I selected Pages.

I really like the scent.  I think its the amyris note in it.  Whatever it is, the other three scents are going to be starting my nose contest at a distinct disadvantage.

It will take me a couple more shaves to dial in the lather, but -  I'm impressed.  As a new artisan on the scene, I think David is producing a great line of soaps

After reading through this thread, I had to go order some samples. You guys are not helping with this soap addiction thing. But thanks for all the reviews anyway.

Happy shaving,
Marty M

I got around to shaving with Hub City Soap Chats With Grandpa today. It’s a very good soap base and a nice scent. Lathers up nice and thick and slick. The scent is similar to the Stirling Barbershop scent which I like and I like this one too.  This one can stay in my rotation  Happy2
