Can you post these? Thanks!

frenchy and RayClem It seems to me this thread was started in support and for comments about Hub City Soaps. I think it's disrespectful to start a listing of your all time favorite soaps/bases here. Starting your own thread for that instead of clouding this thread and taking away from Hub City would seem the respectful thing to do. Can't we be gentlemanly and respect people's threads by keeping it on the original topic ?

I have a sample of the Red Cabin in the Woods and it as well as a couple more scents on my radar will be purchased after I make more room in the den. Meanwhile I will enjoy the sample till gone. I place them up there with A&E.

I too feel we're wandering off base, but not entirely.  I certainly think it is on point and helpful for RayClem  to state how he would comparatively rank Hub City and explain his reasons, as he briefly did in Post #10.  I was also interested in the answer to frenchy' s question, raised in post #11.  But as I understand your post Dave, you did not raise any issues with these posts either.  It was the long list in post #12.  With hindsight, I would agree for two reasons that the list would have better presented in another thread.  First, I don't see the list as something that is still focused on Hub City.  Second, a different, more general thread would invite a comparisons with other soaps, which might easily be of greater use to the community.  FWIW I feel some ownership myself, having encouraged the discussion (via likes) without thinking it through thoroughly.

Anyway, thanks for stepping up and trying to help us make what I would agree is a good course correction.

I asked him to elaborate on his totally on-topic post...which I will continue to do as I please on posts here. If you find that offensive I suggest that you block me..

OK, putting on the Moderator hat here, first everyone please stay calm and relax, we're talking about shaving.  Second, I did go back to the OP and read through every post and given that a member posted that he was impressed with Hub City soap and that he'd sampled over 100 soaps and he'd place HCS in his top 25 it wasn't an unreasonable ask for a member to post a request of what his top 25 are so that one could (I assume) on inspection of that list derive an opinion to the meaning of HCS being classed in that group - putting it into context.  Thats how I read it.    Now if the thread then meandered off on the merits of that top 25 compared to some other top 25 and so forth, then yes, a gentle nudge to return to the OP's topic would be in order but I think we're still on Hub City Soaps.

Thanks
Mark

On the topic of Hub City Soap, I did order a Chats With Grandpa set a couple of weeks ago based on this thread.  I haven't tried the soap yet because I was unsure of the scent.  Its a fairly standard barbershop scent, they did mention bay in the scent notes which I can't detect on the puck or in the splash.  That annoyed me I must admit because I feel like Pavlov's dog, the artisan mentions bay or bay rum and I buy it.  There are other examples of this where there is no bay - Diver Down (to be fair he said "bay inspired" in that one but still).  In any case what I've been doing for the past couple of years with a soap/aftershave the scent of which I am unsure of is that I will leave them on a convenient shelf and then sniff them every now and then to see if anythings changed and surprisingly things do change.  I'm not sure if its my nose - brain connection or familiarity or what but often, not always but often I find that the scent grows on me.  Anyway, I tried the Chats with Grandpa splash a couple of times and I've come to actually like it so now I'm going to try out the soap.  Friday Night Lights sounds interesting - how prominent is the smoke scent?
