I must admit that I'm a bit spoiled having stocked my den with soaps from top tier artisans like B&M, WK, L&L, T+S, to name a few. However, some of the crown king soap scents sound very unique and interesting. How's the performance of these soaps? I don't mind all vegan as some of my favorite soaps use vegan formulas (SV 70th anniversary, DrJons FiTD). How would crown king soap performance compare to say, dr jons soaps, which I swear by.

I find Crown King to be of the best vegan soaps. Easy lather and usually strong scents

Crown King soaps are awesome as far as I'm concerned. If you like tallow soaps then you will probably like CK. However, there is no tallow in CK, but due to the high butter formula it performs very similar to tallow based soaps. Another thing worth mentioning is the soap is extremely thirsty, comparable to Barrister's Reserve.

Hobbyist - Do you know the difference between their Crown King formula and the regular PAA formula? Do they all use the same one? I couldnt find more info

I only have 1 crown king soap and it works pretty good in my opinion. they need loads of water to get nice and slick, at least from my experience.

My buddy says he enjoys the Black Tea shave soap I gave him. He had positive things to say about it and uses it thorough in use or aka 3017.

The formulas are different, according to CaD314. Crown King features kokum butter, which I believe is not present in the normal PAA formula. Subjectively, I'd say CK feels a tad fattier, more moisturizing, but I wouldn't swear to it. Both are excellent.

CK formula is very good. I find it creamier than the slightly firmer, PAA formula. Both are excellent, but if I had to really choose, I liked CK better.

Hey Dr Dee,
I appreciate your interest! Our CK Formula is a High Butter Formula. Both our formulas however contain kokum butter. Please don't hesitate to PM me or shoot me an email if you have anymore questions.
Cheers
