Never suggested such. Will stipulate it likely am removing the coating.

Only suggesting the coating may be the source of irritation for my skin. Demonstrably, I (and definitively only speak for self) get better shaves. Just a fact. Perhaps there an allergy?

Hmm, nacets have been giving my skin a hard time. Maybe the hand stropping will help, that is if the coating is causing problems.

Thanks for sharing.

I get two good shaves then I begin to notice a marginal decline in quality due to my coarse beard. I always hand strop 20X each side before first use.

Concurred.

Nacet experience:
4 shaves really pushing it
3 shaves OK (sometimes quite good)
2 shaves always great

10 handstrops per edge here prior to every shave.

Also, Nacet (and all blades) work best in particular razors. For personal preference alphabetical list of razors favoured (with blades listed in descending order of preference):

duFour (Wolfman and BBS):
Timor
Persona Israeli Red
Persona MedPrep

H&S:
Gillette Nacet
Astra

Tatara:
Astra
Persona Israeli Red

Timeless:
Persona Israeli Red
Persona MedPrep
Astra

I am surprised by some of the responses. I only get 3 to 4 good shaves from my Nacets.

Let me ask the crowd. I have two different types of nacets. Both come in a box with arabic writing on the short side (all ordered through the bay from Jordan). I believe there is a year or two difference in manufacturing date. The only other difference I can see if the older aged blade (2018) Is in a plain white waxed wrapper. The newer (2019) Is in a white shiny wrapper with 'Nacet' printed all over it in black.

I had a series of wonderful shaves with the newly acquired black wrapper blades. But that could be luck, better processing, etc. Anyone have any insight on the difference? I posted a similar question elsewhere and NO ONE seems to have any idea. This is quite the puzzle, I guess.

Thanks!

mrdoug It's funny you mention this. While the white wrapping was horrid for me personally the newer printed wrapping has been a delight. The card-box for the printed wrapping also looks slightly different.

I personally didn't think the white wrapped ones were horrible, but I agree the newer labeled ones were great and definitely felt better .

The big difference to my uneducated eye is the made in Russia part. I tried searching Google for where they are made. Only result I got was Russia (St Petersburg, I believe). Of course that could be a main plant, with other smaller plants closer to the middle east / europe / etc. They might only label the boxes made there. Heck, they may even use better materials / make better blades from that plant (since it would theoretically serve their home market)? Kinda like Molsen beer - regular vs export ale. I always heard the export ale was inferior. All of this is hypothetical, of course.

I can only think of them being made or coming from a different plant. The 2019 edition works for me.
