How Many Passes Do You Take?

I am working on the pictures.
It is difficult getting the engraving on the handles.

Today two pass & touch up with a GEM Feather Deluxe.

I take as many as it takes to get a BBS shave. I don't feel complete with anything less. That usually translates to 3 passes and some buffing. Occasionally, I pay the price but it's pretty rare.

My new  very old Eclipse Red Ring with Wilkinson blade - fourth shave.

Two Passes. No touch up.

What I meant is if you can't get a smooth shave in 3 passes with the razor you're using you may need a new blade, razor or work on your technique.

2 passes usually just XTG and ATG. Since i daily shave I can just go 1 pass ATG with touch up in some trouble spots and I'm smooth.
