I will takes some pics of it with the new Rocnel Sailor, Rex and B&R Adjustable.

Didn't I read something about there been a mark on the different parts so you can put them on and exactly the right orientation.  If that's correct it's a great addition.

Yes final version has the marks you are talking about

On first observation, this thing is absolutely beautiful for an actual prototype! I am looking over it in detail and I cannot find any flaws in the build quality. This makes me salivate for the one that I ordered. I set it next to all of my modern Adjustables and this thing fits in with the very best and most expensive! Just wow!! If the shave is as good as this thing looks, I will be a fan for life!! I already have the Start 1.18 and that one is extremely well built! Looking forward to the 1.30 plates for that one too.
Just so everyone knows, building a successful stainless steel adjustable is not an easy process! There have only been a few full stainless Adjustables and they are all extremely complicated works of art. At first look of this one, it can hang with any of them.

Some quick comparison pics before New Years and before my shave with the Taiga tomorrow. This is the Taiga, Rocnel SaiIor 2019, B&R Black Titanium coated and Rex Ambassador. I have the Taiga loaded with a Feather and set on the highest gap. Stay tuned![Image: 77c8e79b30a1ef74315705daf8bdf428.jpg][Image: 30fc574cd891b6300af57bc62f835042.jpg][Image: 1f95e82815dfb41fa940925b05b10f27.jpg][Image: 2412af4b66184734dee81a09d8cb8f63.jpg][Image: 635975885840d38d348882f26b86e0cc.jpg]

It wasn't a nearly long enough trial, but a friend of a friend let me use his Ambassador for 3 shaves a few months ago.  As someone who values smoothness above all else, I just couldn't get that bad boy to work for me and I really am not willing to spend $250 to give it another long term shot.  It's a shame, because REX from design and build standpoint is totally my jam.  That handle knurling is the best I've ever used.

I just registered at the Homelike website and was going to impulse purchase a polished .69 Start razor, but they are out of stock.  It made me focus once again on my obsession with adjustables...
What was the serial number of the Ambassador you used? Thx

I finally got the guy's cell # and sent him a message asking him the SN.  I do know he bough it 2nd hand, and I'm positive it had an 'M' in the date code (can't remember the quarter.  During my short trial, I got decent results, but it was just not a smooth experience while doing so.

In any event, I sold a .68 SS Timeless to a friend literally hours after making my post above.  It was a totally unplanned transaction.  I decided to use funds from that sale to purchase an Ambassador.  I already received a shipping notice.  What the heck...I'll give it a shot, and this way I guess I'll be extra motivated to try every variable possible!

To be on topic, I know someone who plans to get the Taiga, so I will eventually get a chance to try that as well.

george1906, How does the Taiga's knurling compared to the others? I have an Ambassador & a 2019/20 Rocnel Sailor & to me; the Sailor has better knurling. Not that the Ambassador's knurling isn't superb because up until the Sailor's release, it was the best. I hope Taiga has excellent knurling as well.

Using the Taiga prototype this morning with a Feather blade set on the highest gap to start. At first touch, the 2019 Sailor has the best knurling grip out of all of my Adjustables but the real test is in use so stay tuned!

My O3 Ambassador is as smooth as Timeless Ti and the one you have tried is 2 years old so not the latest revision. I bought mine on Black Friday for a great deal and had a chance to get the one with the M even cheaper while still brand new but after reading about issues with older revisions choose to make sure I have the recent version after trying the pass around one

For me the Rex didn’t work out. I found it aggressive (as in, it causes aggression) and for a more or less smooth shave it wasn’t very efficient (lower settings). Even riding the cap.
Blade exposure? Don’t know, it didn’t work for me. It felt as if I left my face on the sink.
Found the star, Game changer much smoother and efficient. I use a fatboy at 5-6 setting (for reference).
But, that is just me.
