I have always had issues paying through his website. I end up using PayPal but go through payment as a guest and use one of my credit cards. It’s crazy and been dealing with it for the past couple years. I called PayPal to find out what the issue was a while ago and it’s some kind of security issue that won’t let me use my PayPal account with their site. Really weird because it works in every other international site I use. Can’t use the pay by credit card option either. The trick I found was to use PayPal and use the guest option. You still end up paying that fee but it does work. I really wish they would address this and fix it considering how many people have been purchasing from them over the years!

Received mine after one month shipping. For those looking to order I would recommend the EMS option as Shavemd has suggested.

The finish is a mirror polish which I would rank third behind H&S and Wolfman. Very nicely done. Extra points because internal components were also mirror polished. I will knock them on the lettering as it is very poorly executed. Several of the letters on the base plate are half colored in. Others have very messy edges. Not sure how this was overlooked in QAQC for a razor of this price. Its not enough of an annoyance to reach out to HLS, but you will not find QAQC issues like this in other >$400 USD razors( I paid 600+ before the price drop).

The shave was enjoyable. This was also my first shave with Ethos soap and honestly it was the MVP of this shave. I'm trying to focus on the Taiga, but I should acknowledge Ethos soap's contribution to the experience. The knurling is shallow, but it is appropriate given the light weight of the razor. Always felt secure in hand. Very smooth and buffing did not lead to any irritation. I chose level 3 for the first shave as I am less than 24 HR growth. I turned it up to 5 for a few spots to test it out. It created more blade-feel but it was still very smooth.

The shave was enjoyable enough for me to decide to skip the 2021 Sailor. For me the weight is the only thing the Taiga does better than the sailor. I do enjoy the shave of the sailor more, but I am now spoiled with the titanium. I will wait for Murat's titanium model for my next adjustable purchase.

With Paypal (4% extra commission), it is costing $495 around $500 without shipping.
You might ask him for $100 refund. I am not finding this fair, you paid extra, and supported the company before us.
Hope you will decide to email him and get your refund.

I barked up that tree and got a no. I do not have buyer's remorse over it. He fixed it and made it right for everyone else at least.

Needed a quick shave before church this morning so I dialed the Ti up to 5 and did a very quick 2 pass shave. BBS everywhere except jawline and upper lip but definitely nice and clean for church. The BBS when I used level 9 did not last as long as an IKON Tech or Sailor dialed up but did give me about 18 hours.

Yes, I purchased the SS Taiga for $250, before he made the changes and now the price is just under $200 (although SS not currently in stock).
My understanding was that it was to do with bank/ Paypal commissions and fees, so he wasn’t actually keeping any/ most of the price difference... which, if true, might explain why he wouldn’t want to issue a refund....
So I decided not to bother asking for any sort of refund for that $50 difference.

Same as cornbread, I’m happy with my purchase, and the quality of the razor and the shaves.
The only thing I’d like Homelikeshaving to improve, if possible, would be the to make the adjustment ring slightly tighter, as mentioned above. It’s a bit too easy to twist, and, with the way I’d normally hold the razor, I would rest one finger on the adjustment ring, and potentially end up unintentionally moving it whilst shaving...

I have never had an issue with the adjustment ring in my original Taiga so very interested to see if it has been been loosened up in the new titanium. Hopefully mine will ship tomorrow.
By the way, if you are a collector like me, keep the original Taiga because it will become a unicorn. It’s the only adjustable OC razor that I know of. I have had 5-6 guys contact me about possibly selling it and I’m sure that will increase over the years.

Sorry, should have clarified... mine is not the Titanium, it’s the SS from the latest (second) batch.
I guess it also depends on how one holds the razor...
The natural position for me, especially during the WTG North to South pass, would be to hold it higher up on the handle, and my index finger ends up resting on the adjustment ring.

Do you tend to hold it lower, with all your fingers below the adjustment dial?
I’ve tried that, which obviously removes the concern about inadvertently moving the dial, but it doesn’t feel as comfortable to me, especially as it is fairly head heavy.

I am wondering since the Ti was a small batch and hand polished if there is some minor variation between razors.
