Holy grail brush??

Hi would like to know what everyone holy grail or favourite badger brush is. IV read on some forums people love Rooney brushes or a vintage plisson HMW, there are also great moden day brushes from the likes of Varlet, declaration grooming ect.. just wondering what is your favourite badger brush you have used ??

I think that's very subjective and individual what's good for me, may not be the same for you. I have two Shavemac brushes, 26mm D01 2-Band bulb and a 24mm 2-Band Silvertip.
Both are different, the D01 has a ton of back bone and a soft plush feel, the Silvertip has a more creamy feel with luxurious soft gel like tips, both are great brushed for me. Hope that offers some help.

Yes absolutely I know everyone has different preferences but would just like to hear what Peoples favourite brush is those shavemacs sound great, I have 2 shavemac brushes but the hair is very rough and not soft, I emailed the owner and he mentioned he doesn't currently have gel tip knots available I think there was a batch in 2015 that were really good

My favorites right now are my 26mm Maggard SHD fan, 26mm V8 Fanchurian, and 28mm Declaration B8 knots. I've used all of the Declaration batches except B2, B4, B9+, and the new B11. Batches 1, 5, and 6 are incredibly nice, but good luck finding one because they are among the most desirable knots out there. The SHDs and Fanchurians are readily available though. I've found them to have the perfect amount of gel, density, and backbone for my preferences.

Out of curiosity, which hair do your Shavemac brushes have? The regular Silvertip 2-Band is very soft hair. Not gel-tip, but very, very nice.

Really the closest I could come to a grail anything is the type of hair and that is badger. As to a specific brush? I love them all, and will use some more than others for awhile, but it would be blasphemy to say I would choose one over all my others. I enjoy the brushes and the variety.

I probably had some Shavemac 2-band Silvertip from back around that time, and didn't find them to be my preference. My frame of reference for gel tip is Rooney 2-band Heritage though, and the closest I ever found to that was Declaration B1. Even there I would say the B1 deserves to be recognized by itself. Still, it was good for what it was, and I preferred it much over Thater, and all the other gel tips. Especially the Oumo, Maggard, and all the other stuff out there that is gel tipped. I don't consider it gel tipped, and is very much not in my taste. All the more power to those that love it!

Wow! Your skin must be overly sensitive as Shavemac's Silvertip 2-Band, even in the Unique knot is quite soft. 
It seems you might need those gel-tipped knots, then, or a good synthetic.

“Grail” or “favorite” are loaded terms. If it is only about mechanical properties, the answer would be different if it also includes sentimental and emotional value, aesthetics, price, availability, etc. I am sure that everybody on this forum will have their own definition.

I have quite a few brushes and currently they all qualify to be my favorite of grail brushes.

No it's not really sensitive it's just the knot isn't soft, compared to paladin brushes, leonidam brushes my shavemac don't feel that good. Not sure if they need. Long break in
