High end razors

Some readily available SS DE recommendations:

1.  Blackland Blackbird CC:  This razor has a very different shave feel/look.  It gives excellent results with less irritation than any razor I've used.  Amazing...
2.  Timeless 0.68 SB:  Pimp my razor; absolutely beautiful finish work.  Excellent shaver.....
3.  ATT M1:  A classic.  Great shaver and the lowest maintenance finish IMHO.  Functional art....

All these razors are in the $185.00 price range new.  Your great great grandchildren will be using them long after you are gone, and they'll still look great....

I do like the blackland but i like a short handle.

The current handle length for the Blackland Blackbird is 85 mm. There used to be two options, 70 mm and 101 mm.

If there was a 70mm i would go for it.
85mm i think would be too long for my liking.

I abstain from commenting, not because I'm avoiding conflict, nor because I am anticipating backlash...anyone that knows me knows those 2 things don't bother me.

I simply have never used a high-end DE razor, so I have no opinion.

Now...I have a couple of straights that I would consider high-end, but only by my own definition, not by consensus. I sold the only one that was truly considered "high end"...Dubl Duck Wonderedge just didn't fit with my mismatched accumulation of reconstituted tools, and deserved a seat amongst giants.

I have middle class tastes and a no class budget...

Chris, nobody cuts to the chase with so much panache while, at the same time, pure dignity in the showing, quite like you.  It's great having you here.

Didn't find any serious upgrade or performance differences between my ATT S1 and the Wolfman I had for a few weeks either so this is not surprising. I think folks are just paying for the unobtainium/piece of art aspect. Which is OK. When you pay north of $200 for a razor you aren't going to come out and say it sucked. You just paid $200+ dollars and don't want to look like a sucker.

Especially when the sucker on Ebay pays close to $1000 for it. I just watched that whole thing happen lol.

Friend in HS had a Ford Galaxy with a 390 engine always wanting to race my Chrysler. I stopped by his place after installing the twin carter carberators and manifold but had no aftermarket air filter element yet so it was LOUD. He was convinced it was going even faster ( not the point of twin carbs so much as smooth fuel flow) and begged for the secret.
Aviation grade fuel. Where, how can I buy some? I looked around as if people might overhear me. I got a small supply from a pilot at Van Nuys Airport. I can sell you 3 gallons for $30.
I sold him 89 octane from the 76 station I worked at which set me back .79 a gallon. He drove around town convinced his ford was faster than anybody. Then he blew past a black and white parked in the 7-11.
