Welcome to DFS!
I’ve settled on a Thorn and Henson mild for now, nice razors that are doing me right for now.

Two great choices! Smile

Thanks all for the nice welcomes.
A funny story, I’ve been doing soaps and brushes for over 40, I’ve always used Icabod Conk soaps, tried a few other pucks but not much better. Fast forward to a couple of months ago and I’ve found the modern soft soaps, very nice.
Really nice to come into the 21st century.

There are also some old, and some very old, soft soaps that are pretty good, and affordable too.

I doubt you’ll go back to Conk. At the beginning of my wet shaving adventure I lathered for a couplé of years with Ogallala bay rum soap and I was happy with it. Then I tried Barrister and Mann and that was it for Ogallala soap. I still use their toner because it’s good and I love the smell but their soap is not even close to the best artisan soap. It’s too bad because it doesn’t have to be that way. Take Tabac soap for example, old school, fantastic scent and excellent performance.
