Like military green. I just found the Astra SP. Monday's shave I will start with a Kai and go from there.

Couldn't resist doing my first shave this morning. Loaded the razor with a Kai stainless blade. This blade compares to a Feather (IMHO). Before I started I noticed the built in washer on the lower plate. I remember owning several Phoenix Shaving DOC Asension razors and how they are adjustable by turning the handle. And they worked very nicely so I did the same with the Henson and guess what even at a 3/4 turn the blade never became loose. So I decided to shave with the razor at 3/4 open. Holy smoke I just turned a 4/10 aggressive razor into a 9/10 extremely aggressive razor. The first pass was incredible so on the second and final pass with light touch up I closed the handle slightly to about 1/2 turn open. The end result was an very close and more important comfortable shave. The razor felt good in hand. Although light the grip and length of the handle works perfectly. So far my thoughts are a well built thought out razor with a flat type head that can be adjusted for the beginner shaver to the experienced shaver with a turn of the handle. I am impressed.

Jerry, I tried the same thing with this razor, not fully tightening it, but the shave wasn't as comfortable to me, for whatever reason. However, it does provide that option for those who want to try it as the blade is held quite tightly.

I think the built in washer on the lower plate gives the option of loosening the handle to give more blade exposure/gap. The razor has a positive exposure to begin with so increasing that might feel rough but it doesn't affect the shave (YMMV)

The purpose of the tungsten bushing is to minimize friction to make assembly easy(less torque), and to reduce the wear on the mating parts.  When designing, we experimented with partially closed assembly, and it certainly dose change the exposure to be slightly to extremely aggressive.  We tried to make a notch-like system to gauge the amount open and correlate it with an aggressive level...but it was a bit more effort than what it was worth, and didn’t suit the goal to attract to “new to wet shaving” users.   The more feedback like this the more it pushes us to get the aggressive version ready. ?
