You know, it's funny, I never gave it much thought. It was just the razor and went everywhere I did, through my first wedding, through the births of my four children and then through my second marriage after the death of my first wife. My oldest boy (ha, not really a boy, 41) has apparently been a regular at B&B and TSN for years. He introduced me to this world, and that provided this old retiree a lot to learn from and share. I just never used those plastic cartridge things. My Krona gave me fifty years of service for a $1.49 investment. Best investment I ever made! The TTO knob fractured and the pin holding it in finally broke after being dropped like I had a hundred times before. Fortunately, I already had my new Karve with the E plate which is serving me well along with my new RR Hulk Hawk. I did purchase a Krona from Ebay for about fifteen bucks as a backup. I can shave my head and face on full auto with the Krona. I just never in all my years of shaving achieved a BBS until I purchased and used my two new razors. I will confess that I'm still working on my KARVE technique for my head shaves. I'll get there. But yeah, I really enjoy these forums. Always used Barbasol, until my son gave me a brush and tin of King of Oud soap for my birthday this last February. Using that brush and soap reminded me of watching my father shave back in the early fifties. I still have his Gillette slim adjustable. Picked it up after cleaning up his estate almost fifteen years ago. Well there i go, just like an old man. Blah blah blah. Thanks for your interest.
Enjoy your shaves,
Jeff
Enjoy your shaves,

Thats the good part Jeff, you're always welcome to talk here. There is another world you may or may not know about - the restoration and re-plating of vintage razors. Have you checked out this website? http://www.razorplate.com Chris runs the site and restores razors as a sideline. He's done a few for me and his work is exceptional and reasonably priced. There really is something for everyone in this strangely enjoyable wet shaving space.
A late welcome from me, good to have you here on the forum, Jgreenepa!
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”
