Hello all, I'm new to the forum but not entirely new to wet shaving. I started wet shaving back in mid-September 2023, and quickly was taken by acquisition disorder. Aren't we all?

Thanks!

I started wet shaving in mid-September 2023 as my beard, which I had for the previous 9 years, had been turning more and more white and I'm too young for that look.

I started with the Henson AL13 Mild and, even though I had bought all the Reddit-recommended n00b supplies like Arko, Proraso White, and blade samplers, ended up grabbing some Noble Otter Lonestar and Firefighter, and lathered up Firefighter first. From there, I haven't looked back and have been gobbling up artisan soaps (too many, probably). The stick of Arko and the jar of Proraso White still sit unused. I'll eventually PIF them to someone, I think.

I wasn't really all that taken by the Henson. The light weight of the aluminum combined with the toothless mildness of the razor was leading me toward forming some bad habits, like pressing, so I picked up a revamped 1960 F4 Fatboy from Razor Emporium, and fell in love with it. From there, I picked up a few more razors and a lot more blades, but have landed on Wizamets as my go-to "comfortable in every razor I have" blade. I've also tried GSBs, Nacets, RKs (with the Henson only), Gillette Platinums, Gillette 7 O'Clock (super stainless / greens), and Astra Greens. I have another 10-15 sample packs to try out, but I went heavy into some of the blades I've tried and liked due to the spin-down of the St. Petersburg factory.

Then, I found brush thrill and, thanks to some helpful folks in the community, have scored several nice brushes with another couple on the way.

I have been pretty active on Reddit and various wet shaving discords, and have somehow ended up as a moderator on r/wicked_edge in the short time I've been part of the hobby, but I enjoy the community!
