Hello,

I have been reading here for about a month.  Thanks for all the tips and reviews!
DE shaving is new for me.  I started in mid-November, and am now hooked.  I enjoy learning the technique, enjoy taking the time, and best of all, I really like that I was able to turn a chore into something I now look forward to every day!

For the curious, I grew up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, known as the UP, and us natives are referred to as "Yoopers" by them "trolls" that live below the bridge (Mackinac Bridge, connecting the state's two peninsulas).  I move to Maine in 2000, and have been informed that as I am "from away" I will never be a Mainer.  So I made my own classification for myself!

Hi Eric, Welcome to the forum! Merry Christmas!

Another person here who decided I wanted to live in Maine and chose it rather than being born here by an accident of nature. I'll never be a "real Mainer" either because I liked the state and chose it. Forget that we like it enough to live here for 35 years. I have to chuckle at folks who through the accident of birth claim, "Maine is the only state for me!". Then when asked where they've been (to compare it to) say that they've never been out of the state. :-)

I'm from central Maine also; Fairfield. I'm just curious, I'm not going to drop by, where are you located?

BTW, :-) We now have the makin's for our own Maine Traditional Shavers Convention. There are 2 of us! Actually 3, I have a buddy who shaves with blades but he's not on the forum.

Hi Brian,

I am right next door in Waterville. I was reading your website info, and see you enjoy some astronomy. I am a member (albeit its been a bad year for me to participate) in the Central Maine Astronomical Society! Star-gazing has been a hobby of mine for some time, and it was Maine's dark skies (once I moved away from the interstate exit with all their lights) that got me going.

Small world, right?!

and a Merry Christmas to you, too!

Small world indeed!

I don't do much astronomy anymore. When I do some today it's mostly binocular or with my small 'scope. 30 years ago our skies were much less light polluted. I just find it frustrating today.
