Andrewjs18, keep us posted of the progress you make with Bump Stopper-2.

I'd like you to try our Dare To Be Bald Scalp Treatment Dare to be Bald and our Low Lather Shaving Gel.

Dare to be bald was developed especially for the scalp.

The Shaving Gel is very useful when shaving areas hard to reach as it does not clog razors.

Send me a PM with your shipping address and I'll mail you a tube of each free of charge.

BumpStopper, thanks for the offer but I'd rather buy the products myself. I don't want anyone to think my opinion is skewed because I was sent something for free, especially when your stuff can be had for cheap.

shaved my head last night after showering. I put some noxzema deep cleansing cream on as a pre-shave. this used to be a popular alternative to proraso as a pre-shave..I'm not sure if it's still as widely used or not anymore though. after I let that site for 1-2 minutes, I applied cremo original shaving cream. this stuff gets super slick after it's mixed with water.

I used my trusty gillette guard last night - it made quick work of my 4-5 days worth of growth without any problems. I did nick myself in 2-3 spots, but it wasn't a big deal.. this razor doesn't clog at all when I use shaving soap/cream. while I like using oil a lot, shaving cream is way less messy and is easy to rinse off clean.

I think I'm dealing with a few spots of folliculitis on my scalp. I'll get these random bumps on my head AFTER my hair has grown back for several days. I'm thinking of picking up some nizoral shampoo as I've read some pretty good reviews about this stuff for dealing with scalp folliculitis.

gwsmallwood, didn't you say you deal with scalp folliculitis?

I did. If you think that's what it is, I would recommend a trip to the derm. The shampoo you mentioned is probably an anti-fungal. That only helps if the problem is fungal. Usually, it isn't. Noxzema never worked for me (neither did proraso white). They dried my skin out terribly, and in general, my skin doesn't react well to menthol.

I have an appointment scheduled on Wednesday...I was surprised I was able to get in so quick...he's usually backed up for weeks.

That's great. He should be able to clue you in to the source of the problem. I have one of the best dermatologists in AZ, but he wasn't able to give me any easy solutions though. That came down to trial and error. He just helped me discover the root of the problem so I knew what to try.

If it turns out to be something you struggle with for a long time, laser is a great option. It's taken me almost a year and 7 sessions with 6 touch ups, but I'm down to little tiny wispy hairs now, and my scalp is much easier to take care of (much less shave).

The doctor did say I had some mild folliculitis. He prescribed me loprox 1% shampoo that I'll pick up tomorrow from the pharmacy.

We'll see how it goes!

oh, and I also have this small patch of skin on the right side of my lower neck that appears to also have some folliculitis as well. the area has these red bumps that literally NEVER go away, regardless of what product I use for my shave, how often I shave, etc.. the doctor told me to rub some of the shampoo over that area as well to see if it helps.
