does anyone have any tricks for using shaving oil when shaving their head? I've tried like 4 now and the only one that's worked somewhat decently is the one jmudrick sent to me (I believe it was him). they all seem to really clog up the razors pretty good for me..

been using a new feather mr3 razor for my past 2 head shaves. it's a very well-built cartridge razor with some heft to it (I'll throw it on the scale tonight) that also has a little toggle switch to allow the razor head to pivot or stay in a fixed position.

what I'm not a fan of is the blades..they seem to have some guards on them that promote some clogging..apparently the fII and samari edge blades work on the mr3 as well. I might eventually pick them up to try..

Has anyone tried the new Gillette 3 blade? How does it compare to the Original Mach 3?

not yet, no.

I think my favorite cartridges you can find in any local store so far are the mach 3 and the schick xtreme 3. I think I'm about out of both of them so perhaps I'll pick up some gillette 3 blades if rite aid has them tomorrow afternoon..

I got a great deal on a 100 pack of Gillette Guard ($26). These so far are the best razor I've used for my head. Cheap, efficient, comfortable, and easy.
When I use a DE I need a super mild razor. My favorite is the RazoRock Baby Smooth.

andrewjs18 I've never had luck using oil, for face or head. They're all too thick and gunk things up. Good luck in your search!

I use the RR Hawk aluminum either v1 or 2. Used the Gillette guards for years before the hawk

I've tried using oil on my head way more than on my face. as you said though, oil gunks everything up and makes a mess of the sink...and the extra time needed when using oil doesn't yield better results for me..

picked up one of the new gillette 3 razors with an extra blade for $7.99 at rite aid on Tuesday. It's $9.99 before the discount we get. I'm probably going to use it for my shave tonight and will let you know how it goes.

GoHabs, shaved my head with the new gillette 3 razor tonight and cannot tell any discernible differences between that and a mach 3.

I liked it, much like the mach 3, because of the way the head lays naturally flat against my head when shaving...

I'll have to give them a try. Thank you for the review.
