I've had a variety of brushes, but none admittedly very expensive. We've sold silver tip, black badger, & synthetic. I've NEVER had a brush that didn't lose ANY hairs. That sounds unrealistic.

agreed. my synthetic brush doesn't lose many hairs but it has lost a few.

While I am assuming the focus of this topic was likely directed at natural hair brushes (apologies if not Monchoon), I have x2 cheap Yaqi synthetics which have never lost a hair. I do not treat them gently, thoroughly rinse them under a tap & in the bowl every time after which I flick them hard x20 times to remove as much water as possible & then run them against the towel at least x5 times each way before hanging them upside down to dry (hair dryer employed in winter at one stage but no longer do so).

I think most of my brushes have lost at least a few hairs when new. Some custom brush makers shampoo and comb out the knots, which would cut down on the hairs lost after being received by the user.

Paladin: have a bunch, I'll lose one hair once in a while on a WWXL Churchill
Stirling 26mm Ebony Finest: never lost a hair.
Rooney Victorian: loses one or two hairs every shave
Varlet Beehive: no shedding
GFT Ch 3 equivalent: started off not losing any, then for a while it lost 5-8 every shave, now one every other shave.
Rooney Pure 20 mm: lost one hair total.
Shavemac 30 mm silvertip: Didn't shed for a while, then 6-8 a shave for a while now only 1 or 2.
