I was going to buy some samples but now I am thinking of just buying a full size in a scent that I like. I was considering one of the following scents: A Perfect Gent, Casablanca, Ghost Town, and Bourbon Jungle. I narrowed that down to Ghost Town but then Frozen Margarita started to sound more interesting and, since I like menthol I would love to try it. What I would like to know is does it smell anything like a regular margarita? If so, I am not interested. I have Stirling's Frozen Margarita so not looking for anything even remotely close to it. The notes in Route 66's Frozen Margarita sound like a nice combination, but if the Mexican lime and sea salt dominate, I'm not interested.

Also, how is Ghost Town?

Thank you for any help someone can provide.

I have Frozen Margarita and while the Lime and Sea Salt are the most prominent scents in the soap you can definitely pick up the Apple, Jasmine, and even the hay. The menthol is nice but not very strong. I also have Stirling MITA and that soap is much more Lime forward than the Route 66 IMO but in both cases the soap basically smells like a Margarita.

I also noticed that semperfi 45 has featured Route 66 Frozen Margarita in SOTD. Sounds interesting!

Thank you. That's good enough for me to pass on it. I'll try another. The just aren't enough ingesting scents with menthol.

I have Ghost Town, but to be honest I've only use it a couple of time and I would want to use it for a week before I offered any opinion.

I have all those soaps you mentioned. If I could only choose one, I would go with Bourbon Jungle. To me, the scent is amazing and it is as easy as pie to build a great lather. IMO

I really like all there soaps. I have nothing to do with this company. I'm just a good customer.

I am working through the samples. Ghost Town is the only one of the ones you mentioned I tried. It's OK but I think the scent faded fairly quickly. I have not tried Bourban Jungle or Lumberjack yet, Of the ones I tried, I found Sweeny Todd, the best. The scent remained most of the shave and it smelled to me like orangeaid, that  is, orange soda, not fresh orange juice but orange soda. That one I might buy the full soap.

Besides, that is clearly the "best name" for a shaving soap Winking

So I used Route 66 Frozen Margarita today. Route 66 lists at least 8 different scents in there. That is far more than I can figure out. I get a tart lime and some salt. If there is plum, hay, or jasmine in there, then its way beyond my ability to figure it out. There is a bit of menthol.

On the technical side, I find these are very good soaps. They have above average slickness but there are slicker soaps out there and cushion is very good. I always end up with a very close shave using any of the Route 66 soap samples and they are very easy to lather.

Thanks for sharing. I've decided to hold off on my order for now and place an order with Stirling instead. I don't doubt that Route 66 is a fine soap but, I'm so darn picky with performance and scent I want to stick to the brands I know I like. Maybe I can trade for a Route 66 on the BST.
