Handle Appreciation Thread

I’m now waiting for a Durham-Duplex razor from the auction site.
I think that handle is beautiful.  Might even have it replated.

I have a Durham Duplex handle sitting in a box in the closet, unused. One thing I will note, unless there's different versions, you'll find the handle doesn't fit with a lot of razors. Their threads posts are too wide for the handle to accept. It seems to fit the techs, thought, for what that's worth.

draebeard  ... Any idea if there are different (wider) versions?

Some were made in England, and some in the USA.  The English ones are plated in chrome, and the American ones are plated in nickel.  Replating chrome is more difficult than replating  nickel.  It is better to hold out for an excellent example, than to resort to replating.  There are some small variations between them in the threading, though nothing that a tap cannot fix.

Weber vs Ikok vs Razorock

Weber = 80mm. Finest (smallest) knurling of the bunch. Best grip.

Ikon = 85mm. Matte finish. Small knurling but isn’t very deep. 

Razorock = 90mm. Larger knurling but deep. What some might not know tho (or maybe it’s just mine) is that the bottom of the handle is not flat. For lack of a better term it bubbles outward so will not stand on its own.

The Weber Bulldog (and Wave) are my go-to handles. I don't like how much larger the ikon and RR versions are, but have found the Maggard MR11 to be the best replication of the Bulldog. 80mm and 58g.

Ikon has an 80mm version. I have one that I got in a PIF. I'm pretty sure Razorock has one that's a bit shorter, too. I know the HD is, but I thought they had a bulldog closer to 85mm as well.

I think it is so important to have a handle, on all your handles....

There's some hospitality, very nice. 
   I like the magnets holding the handles up too, great idea.
