I'm back at it again with the Bengall. I just can't stop with this shifty business of straight razor shaving but along for the ride today is an amazing H&S Co. Ti Efficient.

I had a good experience with the Bengall, going slowly and with intention. I'm thinking I may just be better off learning to using my left hand for the left side of my face so I practiced that today. I had to go even more slowly but heck try doing anything with your opposite hand quickly. I mean I shouldn't be straight shaving very quickly at this point anyway so...

Once I took care of my checks, chin and neck, I switched to using the Efficient. Wow! This razor is just pure ease. This has to be one of the most fail-safe razors I've ever used. It doesn't have much blade feel (which I dig sometimes) but could totally appreciate the uh, efficiency (lol) of the razor. There's another razor that is quite popular that falls into this category that starts with an H, but this one is better. No offense but this razor is a better razor. At least in terms of the actual cutting hair process.

I did two across the grain passes and felt very little need for an against the grain pass. I think most men could stop here and would likely do so if not intentionally wanting to spend more time shaving.

You know me, so of course I did an against the grain pass. Suffice it to say, I earned a super smooth bbs shave.

The Cavalier soap is of the CK-6 variety and performed as expected. The scent is a blend of both Gondolier and Cavendish. Two very good scents in their own right. I really do enjoy this one and paired it with some new to me P.A.A. Hotel Cecil aftershave. This aftershave also smells really good. It's notes include talc, cardamom, vanilla, tonka bean, kephalis, sandalwood, cedar, nutmeg, black pepper, oakwood and oakmoss. I highly recommend this scent of you think you'll like notes.

Today's shave was a good one.

Take care gentlemen and enjoy your shaves.

Pre: P.A.A. Cube 2.0 w/Cube Dock System

Razor: T.R. Cadman & Sons "Bengall"
Razor: Haircut & Shave Ti Efficient
Blade: Eddison Super Stainless (D8)

Soap: Ariana & Evans Vanille de Tabac
Brush: Yaqi Ocean
Bowl: P.A.A. Intergalactic Indestructible Shatterproof Travel Scuttle

Post 1: P.A.A. Alum No-Slip Grip System w/ Dry Dock System
Post 2: Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel Deep Cleansing Astringent w/ Menthol & Eucalyptus
Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman Virgin Island Bay Rum
Post 4: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Extra-Dry w/ Hyaluronic Acid

For today's shave I wanted to try out both the Ariana & Evans Vanille de Tabac and the Phoenix Shaving Travel Scuttle. Neither of which I've ever used before. So this was an eye opener for me.

Lately I've been finding that I'm really digging tobacco scents so this A&E soap was prefect. It has a rich tobacco and vanilla vibe. It's not weak or underplayed in any way. It's bold and stands up strong. This character made the soap very appealing to me when smelling it, even in the small sample container.

The scuttle.... Let's see, what can I say about the scuttle. It looks good! I like the blue color. Um, I didn't get it to work very well though. I should remind you though that this is my first time using it so maybe I didn't use it properly. Maybe since this was my first time using an A&E soap, I didn't work it as I should. Anyway, I trucked on and made the best of it.

I did my with the grain pass with the Bengall and can say that me control is getting better. It's still a lot easier using my right hand on the right side of my face than using my left hand on the left side of my face, but I'm getting there. Even if ever so slowly.

The Haircut & Shave Ti Efficient is just a dream of a razor. This thing gives nothing but effortless bbs shaves. I swear! It's a swing and hit a guaranteed homerun every time razor. This is all on an eighth day use Eddison blade! If I could afford one I'd be more than happy keep one in my rotation.

I did my across the grain passes with the TiE. DE and am as happy as I can be with the results. I threw on some always lovely Pinaud Clubman VIBR and called it another great shave.

Happy Friday gentlemen. Enjoy your shaves!

Here's a quick few tips/rules for the pass around. Please try to be mindful of the creator of the razor and everyone on the pass around list. If you're going to be out of town just before or during your turn, just ask us to bump you down on the list so you can have the proper time to use it and so you also do not hold up others from trying the razor(s) in a timely manner.

I'm still rockin' the Bengall and the Ti Efficient for this awesome Sunday shave. I'm getting better with the straight in both my right and left hands while the Ti E. comes in for the win.

I decided to pull out the Phoenix Shaving Atomic Pumpkin my good buddy sent me. What can I say but, damn this stuff is good! It's like a boozy pumpkin without being too obnoxiously boozy. It's a perfect balance.

I did a four-pass shave and ended up with a very nice bbs face. I topped it all off with some Phoenix Shaving Tombstone aftershave. This one's a little hard to describe but I'll say that the I really like dry-down of it.

Happy Sunday everyone. Enjoy your shave.

Razor: T.R. Cadman & Sons "Bengall"
Razor: Haircut & Shave Company Ti Efficient
Blade: Tiger (carbon steel)

Soap: P.A.A. Frost Byte

Post 2: Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel Deep Cleansing Astringent w/ Menthol & Eucalyptus
Aftershave: P.A.A. Sci-Fi Lime
Post 4: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Extra-Dry w/ Hyaluronic Acid

Wow! What an incredibly interesting shave this was. I decided to go with the Phoenix Shaving Frost Byte soap even though this is pretty much the worst time of year to try it. But seeing as the samples I have were loaned to me for testing and this is the last shave soap new to me, I just had to see how this would play out.

I'm still loving and learning the Bengall straight razor, and seeing as its Animal Week I paired a Tiger carbon steel blade with the H&S Co. Ti Efficient. My Omega boar brush is also in the mix. So needless to say this was a real rodeo.

After face washing with the Cube, I lathered up some Frost Byte and applied it to my face. Wooow! This stuff is frosty!

I did my first, with-the-grain pass with the Bengall and seem to have an easier time shaving the right side of my face. It seems that my whiskers on the left side are just a touch thicker. The straight still did very well with the job assigned to it.

Now the real interesting part was the bizarre feeling of warm water on a heavily mentholated face when rinsing. Relathering also has a very chilling effect.

I continued on with my remaining passes but the Tiger carbon steel blade really dropped the ball. Even though this was the blade's first use it struggled. If you follow my shaves you'd know I'm a bbs chaser. Not today! I hard to throw in the towel as going against the grain was very irritating and inefficient. Oh well, just more to shave off next time.

The usual suspects played their roles in post but for today I tried some Phoenix Shaving Sci-Fi Lime aftershave. Man is this stuff actually really good! I don't know how you can make something as simple as lime smell sophisticated but here it is. It has a somewhat unique lime scent and the dry-down is very pleasant. I'd have no problem using a full set.

Well there you have it gentlemen. Another entertaining shave brought to you buy me. Time Bandit!

Rock on my good friends and enjoy your shaves!

Pre: hot shower then a warm water splash

Razor: T.R. Cadman & Sons "Bengall"
Razor: Haircut & Shave Ti Efficient
Blade: Leon (carbon steel)

Soap: Barrister And Mann Lavanille
Brush: Yaqi Black and White Marble
Bowl: Bluff Cove Pottery

Post 1: P.A.A. Alum No-Slip Grip System w/ Dry Dock System
Post 2: Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel Deep Cleansing Astringent w/ Menthol & Eucalyptus
Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman Classic Vanilla
Post 4: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Extra-Dry w/ Hyaluronic Acid

As Animal Week continues I pulled out another never before used Leon (carbon steel) blade. I was expecting this blade to be a bad add the Tiger blade was, but it was not. I'll get to that soon.

I took the time to strop the Bengall so that it was ready for today and again it performed extremely well. A "shave ready" straight cuts so well.

I did my first with-the-grain pass with the Bengall and it sung. I then switched to the H&S Ti Efficient with the Leon blade and things were pretty good. The Leon is definitely no Nacet, Wizamet or Personna blade. It wasn't even as good as the Falcon blade but it in truth it was a capable blade in all but going against-the-grain. It struggled in this direction, feeling rough, like it wasn't cutting well. The with and across passes were just fine and this blade was clearly better than the Tiger. The Leon wouldn't be my first choice but I would not feel bad if it were the only blade I had on hand to use.

The Barrister and Mann Lavanille in Omnibus base was beautiful. The lather I whipped up with the Yaqi synthetic was thick and dense, and very slick. The scent was a real pleasure as well. The lavender and vanilla are blended in an elegant design. I most definitely want to pick up the aftershave splash to complete the set.

I concluded this bbs shave with my favorite Pinaud Clubman aftershave, Classic Vanilla. The smooth dry-down is just heaven to me.

Alright gentlemen, that's it for today. Take care and enjoy your shaves!
