New DE razors keep coming out, including the new adjustable from Blackland, which also started making a baseplate for the Blackbird Lite. I was tempted. I've had the Blackbird for a couple years. I loved it but I feared it. So much blade feel! It felt like a straight. Then I did what I should have done when I got it: I paid close attention to Shane's video. When I trust the geometry and ride the cap I feel little to no blade and I get superb, comfortable, BBS shaves. I feel no need for the Lite plate and, sorry to say, no need for the Osprey adjustable. Honestly, I think my stable, which is topped by the Blackbird, is complete.

I love the Blackbird as well. A masterpiece of a razor, in my opinion.

Agreed! Bought the BB Ti on their BF sale. First shave with it today, using the supplied Personna blade.

Similar thoughts, the Ti BB shaves like a well honed, super stiff straight razor that happens to have a safety bar. Superior blade control/stiffness/clamping, excellent blade feel on the face, handle angle easily controls blade engagement. Titanium and balance combines for a perfect light weight setup, any pressure you want without thought, mimics a well balanced straight or kamisori razor for me.

May I ask what video you’re referring to?

I have a BB coming via the BST, which I'm very excited about but at the same time my sensitive mug is already cringing in fear  Big Grin

Will be interested to hear what you think of it.  I’ve owned 4-5 through the years.

I've shaved with the BB almost exclusively for I don't even know how long at this point... 6-12-24 months? I have other razors, but I have no interest in using them anymore.
There came a point when it just clicked and I don't even really think while shaving with it... I don't focus on a light touch, angle, etc. Just autopilot at this point. ATG is no issue, even above the lip or around Adam's apple. .
In fact, I nick myself less with the BB than any other razor I've used.
All this to say, while it may be intimidating at first, there will be a point where it's not ... At least there was for me.
And I'm talking about both the SS and Ti. I don't really see one as better than the other. I enjoy both and will keep both.

I will say that I didn't care for the brass one and I returned it, which surprised me. YMMV of course.

4th shave today with recently acquired BB Ti, still using same Personna blade I loaded on Monday. Absolutely love this razor. Blade clamping is so solid, my ATG pass, even on my lower right neck/jawline area, very confident now the blade just mows through it, no skipping, no blade flex, no unexpected tug (which several of my DEs do). The BB has no irritation with light buffing or just enough pressure to get the ATG stroke done in one move. Other DEs in my den, I have to be a bit cautious, else I get a weeper/hair tug with the ATG stroke/buffing. Much like the Vector, the BB Ti is getting to be an 'automatic/auto pilot' shave razor, nearly impeccable BBS results every day.
