I couldn't wait for DanLaw to get around to me since he has reservations about shipping anything of value to my neighborhood, so I bought the machined version of the 316 P076. After a few shaves I thought I'd share some impressions. Firstly, the machined finish is nice. I would not throw it out of bed for eating crackers. I rather like it. Secondly, the razor is heavy, or rather, the handle is heavy. My first thought was that I'd have to replace the handle as it tips the balance too far from the head. Still, I gave her a go as is.

It turns out that the heavy handle, rather than being a detractor, works to tame the aggressiveness of the razor while providing enough mass to smoothen out the shave. I think Dan had mentioned that in his review as well. Further, the grip of the handle is second to none.

The few shaves I've had so far have been close, smooth and error free. At this point I have no desire to try the Ti version of the P076; I like the weight and balance of this one. It's a keeper.

Did I actually deny you access to the passaround??

Don't recall doing so for anybody in US and it would be a first unless banned for destroying razors or keeping multiple weeks without response.

There is a list that we try to negotiate by region to minimize mail time especially in these days of poor USPS service. Sent you a PM. Please respond; apologies but can't recall specifics of our communication from memory.

The quality of its finish is something like Razorock or better?

I was told that machined finish is in stock right now but if i want it hand polished i need to wait around 6-8 weeks. Personally i prefer light razors so i am struggling between buying the TI version or buying 316SS and using it with any not so heavy aftermarket handle like wolfman hollow etc

These are very different razors with very different shave characteristics.

Could understand somebody wanting a P series as well as either N or Z series but the P series could not considered an alternative to the N or Z series if seeking similar shave characteristics. Both excellent shavers but different

Well tough to join the passaround. Haha.

What other razors do you own or have used and strongly favour??

Definitely tough haha

Despite i am a novice in Wetshaving, i've tried more than enough different razors but still have some razors in my "must try" list, just like P076

Consistently i am using the Blackbird Ti and R41. For a few weeks already i am exploring WR2 1.35SB/1.45OC and the Carbon with the .68 base plate. Regarding this WR2 i can tell that these gaps are a little bit too much for me and i definitely need to try something like 1.15. As for the Carbon - i love the feel while shaving process but somewhy i get strange razor burn no matter what blade and soap i am using. I think i need to try different plates to understand what's going wrong.
