Shihan and Slowdive are completely new to me, so I'm really looking forward to exploring them. I have to admit, you take soap fragrances in some unexpected directions. They're often challenging, but they are always fun. Thanks for keeping our hobby interesting!
I appreciate how you perceived the scent! I hope that as you continue using Le Tabac, your enjoyment of it deepens even further.

During my youth in Boston, I would tune in to a radio station called WZBC to indulge in the melodic wonders of their evening program, NCP (No Commercial Potential). This unique show introduced me to an abundance of non-mainstream music, which resonated deeply with my eclectic taste. In the world of fragrances, there are countless mainstream options available. However, I find myself inclined to steer clear of imitations/dupe or mainstream scents designed to cater to a wider audience. Instead, I seek out scents that exude individuality and appeal to my sensibilities. I adopt a similar approach to composing scents.

‘Jeke’ is one of my personal favorites, and I’ve got a sample of ‘Slow Dive’ I’ve yet to wear. I’ll have to check out ‘Shihan’ as I’m not familiar with it. Now I’m going to have to see if I can find a tub of ‘Le Tebac’

Yes, I was hesitant to mention Stercus in my brief note on Le Tabac today, but there's certainly an element of barnyardy skank in the soap. It has me thinking of a raw take on oud. I'm also getting a very medicinal patchouli note that reminds me of Sammarco's Bond-T, but without the chocolate bits.
And I've pulled out my Slumberhouse samples, so now I can see where Le Tabac is coming from. What I'm picking up is a wedding candle sort of vibe that's common to all the Slumberjack scents I've tried (Kiste, Ore, Norne, New Sibet). It's a waxy overtone that sucks up the other notes and freezes them in place. I smell something like that in Le Tabac.
Mohammad, tomorrow's shaving soap may be your Tobacco Oud. Can you please tell me what inspired that?

I agree with you that Slumberhouse and I likely use similar, if not identical, ingredients in our fragrances. The pool of available fragrance ingredients is relatively limited.
Tobacco Oud, Charge, and Oud Osmanthus are three of my most important fragrance creations. For each of these scents, I developed unique oud accords from scratch. Tobacco Oud is particularly intricate, with 104 fragrance ingredients, of which about 65% are essential oils. Each of these fragrances has a small amount of real Oud varieties. The spice accord in this fragrance is amazing, and I plan to use it in a few winter scents that I'm working on.
Issara by Dusita was my go-to fragrance during the composition of these scents.

Hi WhiskeyJack
