PASIÓN !
My tub arrived yesterday and I used it today.  I've been waiting expectantly because Angel -- a lamb tallow -- is perhaps my best performing soap (bar none) that I've had.  So, the idea of Kairos base with some lamb tallow added (and also some emu oil, not sure what that does, but it's a trendy thing to include), was something I had to try.  Well, folks, the soap performed absolutely beautifully.  This is good stuff.  On the other hand, the scent is -- to me -- very flower forward with tuberose and narcissus and I'm not sure I'm crazy about the tuberose.  I get tuberose over peach, basically.  I know at least one other friend has loved it; I'm not sure it's going to be a favorite scent. But, oh, the base!

While only a single shave so far, I think it is.

Grooming Dept PASIÓN in the limited edition Kairos+Lamb Tallow+Emu Oil formula is one of the best soaps I have ever used. Once again Mohammad has proven himself to be a 1st class artisan. Unfortunately for those who did not purchase one of these soaps already, they are now sold out and may never be produced again.

First, the PASIÓN scent is a beautiful cologne type scent. It is complex and well blended. I consider it to be a "perfume grade scent", even though it is not perfume strength. The scent notes are: Pear, Ginger, Tuberose, Narcissus, Hay, Honey, Amber, Leather, Patchouli, Musks. Thus, it blends a lot of different scent types- fruity, spicy, floral, earthy, resinous and musky. However, because it is expertly blended, my nose has difficulty picking out individual scent notes.

The soap is easy to load, easy to lather, has superb primary and residual slickness, has superb cushion/protection against irritation, and provides a post shave that lasts for many hours. I got a wonderful four-pass shave, very close with zero irritation. The residual slickness is such that I could have completed my clean-up pass without reapplying lather to my face, but I loved the luxurious feeling of the lather on my face so much that I did not want to forego lathering for that pass. The post-shave feel was also superb. It has now been over 27 hours since my shave and only now is the post-shave feel starting to fade. It should be good for another few hours. There are only four other soaps I have ever used that have been able to deliver post-shave conditioning that lasted more than 24 hours, so this one belongs in very special company.

By way of full disclosure, I am a developmental tester for Grooming Dept. However, did not have the opportunity to test this particular formulation before purchasing it with my own funds at full retail price. I love the performance of the individual Kairos and Lamb Tallow formulations, so I expected the combination to be superb. With the addition of emu oil, the results exceeded my lofty expectations.

Those of you who managed to order one or more tubs of PASIÓN are in for a real treat. If you purchased it and do not like it, post it for sale on the forum and someone will gladly take it off your hands.

I wholeheartedly agree with this in depth review! I have always loved Mohammad’s combo base soaps but this one exceeds them all. Glad I bought 2 tubs because this one is a must own for me and I probably have one of the biggest collections of GD soaps!

I am now up to 21 Grooming Dept soaps purchase over the past several years. Mallard was the very first shave soap that I tried that would provide a full 24 hours of post-shave conditioning. There are not many formulas that will do that. The Kairos+Lamb Tallow+Emu Oil formulation was even better. The post-shave feel faded around the 28-29 hour mark. It did that without my face feeling greasy or oily. I kind of wish I had picked up a second tub, but I do not want to be greedy. I have enough super-elite soaps to last me for about 5-6 years, although the others are not quite as good as this limited edition formula.

So, over the last few days, I've alternated between Pasión and Mallard soaps.  Mallard is fantastic, but the Pasión Kairos+Lamb+Emu base is better.  Might be -- probably is --  the single best soap I think I've used.  It is right in ever respect:  lathers easily, feels great, has cushion, is slick, and shaving is almost effortless.  I hope Mohammad makes other soaps with this base formula.  I'd be all in!

I agree with you that the Kairos+Lamb Tallow+ Emu Oil is the best shave soap I have ever used, and I have used many of them. It is even better than Mallard; that is quite an accomplishement.

It is unlikely that this specific formula will be released again due to the high price and limited availability of Lamb Tallow.

However, Mohammad is working to improve the performance of Kairos and Mallard to a similar level. Only time will tell if he succeeds. I am confident that he will.

I asked Mohammed by email today whether he would make more Kairos+lamb+emu. His response was that he would but that the price would be higher because of the increase in price of lamb tallow.  He also said that it wouldn't be Pasion because of how expensive that was. I responded by saying that even at $30 or more, it would sell because so many folks are thinking it is the best soap they've used.  When he might do do some more KLE, however, is a complete guess because he also listed a long line of Kairos soaps that he is now working on.
