Yeah...his scents are nice....but, unfortunately...it’s Alcohol based. I know some people like “the burn.” But...Alcohol is really not good for your skin..especially if it’s very sensitive like mine..

Have you tried a Maol aftershave, frenchy? On my face, Maol is just as "balmy" as my "balmiest" balm (notwithstanding the alcohol). As I understand it, Sean created his aftershaves specifically with the goal of eliminating the burn. I maintain he succeeded much more than any other alcohol-based splash vendor I've tried (though Chatillon Lux is close).

Yes I have...or I wouldn’t have commented. Alcohol creates an unsatisfactory burning sensation for many people. Me included.
And no...I don’t perceive it all as a balm. A balm to me is something like a Truffit & Hill or WhollyKaw balm. Maol is much thinner in consistency....it’s a splash...Much like any AS from B&M or T+S...which both contain alcohol btw...
Bottom line......You can’t eliminate the burn if you use alcohol...
Which is exactly why I’m looking forward to Mohammad’s alcohol-free aftershaves...obviously he understands that dynamic..

It’s funny how different our faces can be. I don’t get a burn from any of my 100+ alcohol-base aftershaves, though none of them can moisturize my face like Maol (or Chatillon Lux). Have you tried Mo’s serum? I haven’t (but only because I’ve got a lifetime supply, i.e., a five-ounce jug, of Sebum Gold).

Yes...His Rejuvenating Serum is nothing short of outstanding! Incredibly moisturizing and protective. I put it on immediately after my final rinse to a moist...not a wet face.. All it takes is a few drops. Rub it in...it absorbs quite fast. Then follow it up with a balm..The scent is very subtle and does not at all interfere or conflict with the balm or AS scent..

What an incredible shave I had today - the best one in a while.  The scent was delightful in the bowl, but the lather was "how did he do that?" superb.   The Wholly Kaw AS was strictly for fun - I love the WK Fougère Bouquet - but my skin already felt wonderful after rinsing off the residual lather, and BBS smooth too.

I could not agree with CCity more. The properties of Maol Grooming aftershaves leave me with a couple of very happy cheeks. I do not have sensitive skin at all, so maybe that's why I like them as much as I do.

Tonight I had Frankenlime soap with Frosted Frankenlime splash (one of my all time favorite aftershaves). Splendid shave, so thrilled for this collaboration.

Can’t say enough good things about the new donkey base. The previous vegan donkey Asinus is an amazing base and by far my favorite vegan base I’ve ever used. This new version of the donkey base with lamb and duck is even more outstanding in every category and still has that signature donkey milk creamy lather texture and post shave. As an unscented soap user I’m very appreciative that Mohammad offers unscented options in every base. For years I have had practically every soap maker tell me they won’t offer an unscented option as it just doesn’t generate enough sales to warrant a production run. With GD I not only have that option but I have choices. It’s fun to have a nice selection of soaps to choose from before each shave...something I’m not used to. The fact that they come in the best bases I’ve tried to date is just a huge bonus. Enjoy the weekend everyone.

I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of the GD aftershave as well.
Alcohol free post shave products are much better for my dry skin, even if the dose is minimal.

I’m also looking forward to the alcohol free aftershave. My face doesn’t tolerate alcohol well. Up to this point it’s just been Thayers unscented (started as an aftershave and now I use it every time I wash my face. Great product in its simplicity), and CL unscented toner for something a little heavier when needed.

Man oh man am I glad Mohammad included a tub of Cascade with my order. I think it
might have jumped over the original soupy Veritas as my favorite Lusso soap! The scent is just amazing and the performance is outstanding. I’m really trying to decide if that is the best soap out of the 3 new ones that I bought. I love love love Cascade and I just finished using it for a night time shave before we head out on vacation for the week. I have now used all of the new soaps except Asinus.

After trying a few 100 soaps on the market from numerous artisans, I have narrowed it down to my favorites.  Grooming Dept has the best scents and performance.  These are my keepers; everything else is going to PIFs or BST.

Looks like a nice pile  of soap. Do you have a favorite Base from all of those?
