Grooming Dept

I have to admit - the thrill of the hunt is half the fun for me. I mean, all of the items I chase are items that deserve my time chasing them imo. I really feel that the wr2, declaration and black eagle brushes, and grooming Dept soap are worth chasing. The 4 items I specified are all top in their respective categories and using even just one of the 4, makes my shave better.

Do I feel like an ass for mashing keys for 3 hours trying to get a black eagle from the last drop, or parking my laptop on the wolfman website to stalk it like a mentally ill person, yeah you bet but my shaves are the best they’ve EVER been and I can’t imagine how they could get ANY better.

Is what it is. Same will chase, others will find it demeaning. Both are right.

Well said! And honestl One question..if you can’t imagine your shaves getting ANY better...why wait in a virtual line to try anything new?

I totally agree with everything you said! Some of us have the time to stalk these sites for new products and some don’t. I love the thrill of getting what I want when things drop. I have spent hours at a time trying to figure out the Wolfman drops and the stars have aligned for me and I got the exact WR2 that I wanted. It’s partly the thrill of getting and having something that somebody else missed out on for me. Do I over indulge? Hell yeah!! Does it bother me? Not in the least! Can it be frustrating sometimes? Definitely, but in the end, it’s worth it for me! For some people, it’s not and those are the people that are usually complaining. Oh well, to each their own!!

A quick note to anyone on the fence over NYChypre. This is not Flowery or bouquet of flowers in your face like say, Magnolia which just hits you with overwhelming flower bouquet sharpness. It actually is very subdued and has a bit more of that Chypre spice like scent with a bit of citrus undertones. Very, very well done imo. The best way I can put it is this; say you have Wholly Kaw Chypre Rose Concerto or DG’s Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli which are more Rose and flower dominant but, in a good way. Add some spice to those like Seville from B&M with a fresh Citrus like GD’s Citric. That is what I get more or less from GD’s NYChypre special release.

Performance? Come on, really? Superb.....

To me it is. Not spicey like in bay rum like, more of an oriental like with a bit of darkness to it. Ever smelled JPG Le Male from the late 90’s to early 2000’s? I get a similar vibe with Seville.

GD soaps are live. Vegan Valencia, three Mallard soaps and two unscented now on sale.
I ordered one of each of the scented.

Just bought all of the new Mallards and Valencia.
