I never smelled the original but this version has a very complex smell. Off the puck, I smell an earthy saffron scent. After lathering, I could smell the citrusy earthy vetiver and woody Oud. The lather exploded in the bowl and was very easy to produce. Often my initial reaction to new GD offerings is offputting. However, after a few days of use, I usually come around to really appreciate and enjoy the scents. I am sure that will be the case with Coattails.

The Soap soap smells like a high end cologne or a luxury hand soap you would find next to the sink in the bathroom of your five star luxe French Parisian hotel room. I like it!
The lather was a little harder to whip up compared to the Coattails Lusso but is slippery and protective.

The Laundry soap reminds me of Mickey Lee’s The Kraken but more layered and complex. It is what you would smell if you wrapped yourself in a freshly laundered bed sheet, which is hanging out on a clothesline, in the middle of a pine forest, in the sunshine to dry.

I like all three of these new releases. My 9 year old daughter just sniff tested all three and liked Coattails the best.

Yeah it’s the best vegan I’ve ever used by quite a bit. Remarkable really. I posted all over on insta and FB with some thoughts. I can post here too if anyone isn’t a member there.

I agree and disagree. Not only is it the best vegan I've ever used, it may be the best soap I've ever used! It is 10 hours after shaving and my face still feels amazing. One more observation, the scent did fade a bit quicker than other GD soaps. Maybe that is what Mohammad was referring to when he said the scent was not as strong as his other soaps.

I’m especially interested in ‘Laundry’. It was all I could do to refrain.

Mo’s next release is called Terra Firma. Among other scents it has Peanuts, Potatoes, Mushrooms, Cognac and Leather??!! I don’t know. This one may be a leap of faith. He is really pushing the envelope which is a good thing.

However, I would really like to buy a simple and plain old nice Lavender soap in these wonderful GD bases.

I did not care for the Coattails Redux scent at all. The lather was fantastic as usual, but the scent was just not my thing.
