In his email from last Friday Mohammad mentioned this new Mallard is better in performance from the previous Mallard base by quite a bit and I have to agree.

Once lathered the rose really comes to life and complements the chai scent. Not an overpowering fragrance, just a perfectly executed masterpiece in performance and scent in my use.

The mystery soap has some wonderful glide and slickness as well!

It turns out the above mystery soap I have been using is the olive oil soap Mohammad has been working on. I was trying to figure out what made it so slick and creamy. Not an easy feat with olive oil and he has improved on it even more. Wonderful new base upcoming. Can’t wait to try the final offering!

A very generous member was kind enough to send me a sample of Molten to try (thanks again Mike!)

I had a chance to use it twice this weekend. The scent prior to lathering is definitely Copenhagen and Skoal. No two ways around it. I haven’t touched those tobacco products in at least 20 years, but oh my, it’s exactly that. So yes, the published scent description from Grooming Dept is a total mystery!

That said, once I lathered it the scent became more complex and changed a bit. No citrus, but it seemed to become sweeter and I could almost pickup some faint leather notes. Very unique and unlike anything else out there! After lathering, I liked the scent much more!

In regards to performance, the Lusso base is just incredible. Off the charts in every aspect. Its different from the duck base, but both are amazing and offer a different experience.

While the scent may not be for everyone, the performance of this soap is top-tier all the way! I’m very happy to have had the chance to try it.

For me, this is an interesting and opportune time to trade notes.  When evaluating a soap, I sometimes use it exclusively for many shaves.  With GDept, I always do a minimum of five consecutive shaves (regardless of scent), and maybe more.  With Molten, I am four shaves plus a test lather in, the jar has been open for 12 days straight, and I noticed this morning that the scent - whatever it may be - has grown on me nicely.

After previously criticizing the scent, it seemed only fair to post this update.

Molten definitely has a Copenhagen scent, even after lid had been off for several days. Granted, the snuff smell is dying down and more sweet tones are coming through but it is still there. I did shave with Molten today. As expected, performance was spot on, no surprise. I did have a spicy face feel for quite a while. For me, I have so many soaps that I love, I think I'm done trying to make myself like this one. Will probably hit the BST in the future,

I got 2 tubs of Laundry and 1 of the Coattails Redux. Thinking I should have bought a second tub of Coattails Redux. I didn’t get Soap as I never buy the Vegan anymore but I’m thinking I may want to try this one.

I screwed up and only bought a tub of 'Soap'. If anyone decides you don't care for Coattails or Laundry after you receive it or just have an extra tub I'd be interested

Has anyone's order from last week's surprise drop shipped yet? Label was printed Wednesday but still not shipped per USPS.

I'll echo above. If anyone has a tub of Laundry please pm me. I had a very shitty week and missed this completely.
