Hello, can anyone comment on the scent strength and longevity of the post shave serum? I am one that prefers aftershave scents to dissipate shortly after applying.

I tried the unscented last night and there really is no scent to it, which I love!

I can honestly say that this is the best combination of shaving gear that I have ever used in my life.  Yes, you all know that I am a huge GD fanboy and up until now, my favorite base was Mallard.  This new combination together in Mandarin Bay (the scent is wonderful and subtle) has toppled the Mallard base as the best shaving soap I have ever used.  I have been using GD preshave V32 for several months now but the final product is on a completely different level and to think that I did not think it could get any better.  This is the first time I have used after shave in a very long time because I just have not needed it using the GD preshave V32.  I used to use Dapper Dragon Scale Polish after shave gel which is wonderful.  I thought my face could not feel any better when using GD soaps and the preshave but I was definitely wrong.  My face feels the softest it has ever felt.
Mandarin Bay produces the best, richest, creamiest lather I have ever tried and that is really saying a lot!  I had an extremely comfortable 2.5 pass BBS and I just can’t stop feeling my face.  It’s crazy how soft it feels and how close the shave was that I just had.
I hesitated on purchasing the post shave serum because I knew how much of the preshave that I wanted to get because I had been using it.  I was fortunate enough to have a bottle of the unscented post shave serum gifted to me by a mysterious wizard ()! I will definitely stock up on the post shave serum now because I can’t see myself living without it now that I have tried it.  I know, you all are getting sick of me going on and on but DAMN!!!  It just can’t get any better than this......until Mo ups the ante again!!  Just WOW!![Image: f2f2c0f1d4e44612ab3858fffb278158.jpg]
My pics look better during the day but I had to get this out.

Thank you George.  I'm happy for you and not at all sick of you going on and on.  My own maiden voyage with Mandarin Bay is penciled in for tomorrow, and I am now looking forward to it all the more.  If you use this setup for a week or two, I'd be curious to know if and how your experience changes.

Thanks again George.

Thanks for the kind words HighSpeed!!
I must say that this morning I’m back to feeling my face and it really does feel like butter. I just can’t say enough about this combination of GD preshave, soap and post shave serum. My face has NEVER felt like this before. I have always felt that my face feels incredibly smooth after using GD soaps and then pairing a GD soap with the GD preshave took it up to the stratosphere, so I thought!!
But NOW??!! With the post shave serum too?! OMG!!!! This is just amazing!!

That's good news. I'm eyeing up the vetiver postshave to go with a soon to be shipped vetiver soap

I have inquired about the strength of the pre-shave and how it interacts/interferes with the scent of the soap. The response was it really does not. I am using the unscented version which I REALLY like!

My question now is how does the scent of the post shave interacts/interferes with the scent of the soap? Does it linger at all? One thing I truly enjoy is enjoying the soaps scent from my shave throughout the day.

For those who are using the post shave serum, if you could please give your feedback not only on how it performs for you but also how the scent plays with a soaps scent.

Mohammad, which product if either, pre or post shave ,would be a beneficial product to apply on days when not shaving? I shave every other day...

CincyDawg + UngerWoo I'm sorry to hear about your packages, please contact me via sales@groomingdept.com.

Robini I suggest using the serum on non-shaving days. Try it when one's face is damp.

One thing I’ve learned in life is most things are not worth waiting for. A notable exception is Mohammad’s new Pre Shave. I just tried it for the first time and quite honestly I’m blown away. A very small dab does the trick. As per his instructions...applied to a wet face...rubbed it in in a circular direction for a minute or so...added a couple of drops of water during the process and voilà..Perfect! Today I went with my new Citric as the soap. Razor was my trusty OneBlade Genesis 2. When I started to shave...no kidding...I stopped and checked that I had put in a blade...It was that smooth. The effect of the new pre combined with the GD soap was like a GD soap on steroids. Post shave feel was incredible!

In short...Mohammad has created another leading edge product...again! Couple of more points on the pre. First off..the scents. The Unscented really is unscented. In my experience, many unscented shaving products do have the slightly or even pronounced nutty scent of the oils, etc. in their ingredients. This pre shave...to my nose anyway, was as neutral smelling as I’ve ever experienced. It will definitely not conflict with any soap scents. I also got the lavender pre. It is VERY VERY lightly scented ..maybe a 1 or 2 out of 10. Very pleasant indeed. Again, I can’t see this conflicting with any soap scent. I think another benefit of this pre will be to use it with other soap bases in your den which are not as good as GD but have scents you really enjoy. It will most certainly breathe some new life into them.

All I can say is I can’t wait to get my Post Serum in a few days to complete my own Grooming Department Shaving System.

I've only got one shave under my belt with the preshave but it was impressive.  Thanks!

Bob

Hi bobmsp The preshave has high ph just like soap. I suggest not to stock pile it and use it instead. The formula will evolve, just like the rest of Grooming Dept products Smile

I have jars that are about a year old now and don't exhibit any issues whatsoever. If something happens to the preshave, please return for refund. I hope you find the answer satisfactory.

Hi Mohammad,

For those of us who already have several jars of preshave, have you any suggestions about the best way to store them?  Would it help to wrap extra jars tightly in Saran Wrap?  Is it better to store them somewhere cool, dry, away from sunlight etc. ?

-- Thanks.

Hi HighSpeed

Cool dry dark would be perfect and uncovered. That's what I do. I now have about 60 GD jars of various products stored under those conditions. They age superbly Smile

Many thanks Mohammad.  Cool and dark is no problem. Dry and uncovered is no problem for me in winter, but as the weather warms, I will have to choose between dry and uncovered.

Regardless, I am delighted to have the pre.  Did my first shave in a while with the pre tonight, and with Mandarin Bay too. It was like meeting the girlfriend that got away for cocktails.
