Great Hunter! I have those soaps and they all smell amazing. I was hesitant of the mint in Island in the Sun but it melds beautifully with the other notes. Incense & Rose might be the greatest wet shaving scent ever created.

Do you suggest doing this before witch hazel and balm? Or instead of?

First shave with Verbrannt today...most excellent! Looking forward to seeing if my shaves the rest of the week stack up!

A friend of mine on DFS had told me the same thing a week or two ago, I’m glad I’ve got a backup on the way! I recently introduced a friend of mine at work to traditional wet shaving, and I can’t wait to introduce him to Grooming Dept Soaps.  He’s going to be blown away!

I suggest applying the remaining lather while cleaning up. After washing the lather apply your favorite post shave products.

Another tip which I'll add to the above list: After washing the lather, I suggest not using any type of clothes or towels to dry one's face. If you can, let the water dry on it's own. The humectant ingredients I use like to trap water (moisture) within the epidermis.

How "smokey" is the Verbrannt?

I smell 50% fireplace/50% incense - reminds me of a high school girlfriend's hippy parent's house in winter :-)

Thank you for your purchase I'm happy you like the soaps. Which one did you get to try?

Next up is Tao today. Looking forward to this one because a few others already expressed love for it. I’ll post my thoughts later today. Island of the Sun was used last so I will try to compare the scents.
