I got savaged by some people for upgrading the vegan base once, and on some site out there, one of it's moderators and a guy who sells soaps attacked me and called it shady, etc... How come nobody attacked or freaked out about Saponificio Varesino, they're doing similar thing: within a year released Beta 4.0, Beta 4.1, Beta 4.2 and Beta 4.3.

Yeah, I'm going to continue experimenting. Smile I'm grateful for the amazing support on DFS, and I'm excited to make many more interesting bases Smile

I’m in negotiations with my Wife to get another drawer in our bathroom for more soap space

The famous “Peel Sessions” some great performances were captured on that show.

DON'T CHANGE Angel! It's perfect the way it is!
But by all means, keep experimenting. Wink

Good God - thought nobody else in US knew of Jon Peel - never know. Always suspected there was a quiet yet nicely sized niche market for scentless soaps in quality bases; never going to be able to resell them but that's OK, just buy enough for reasonable personal usage.

You've been hyping unscented soaps. They flew off the shelf, thank you Smile

I personally enjoy unscented soaps quite a bit. Especially now as I'm working on aftershave scents.

Mohammad can you compare the qualities of Clarus to Asinus in terms of lather quality and performance? I know one has donkey milk which is a plus but is there any other discernible difference in the lather between them?

My experience is there are distinct differences between all the bases.  In particular, find the Vegan base to be lighter, slightly less cushioning but a little slicker than the donkey milk base.  In no way does the relative difference between these two bases imply that they are not industry leading in those metrics.  Most importantly they still provide the absolute best in industry post shave with donkey milk being the leader there as well and maybe even better than the Mallard base truth told.  Of course, this is comparing scented soaps but my understanding is they are identical to the unscented versions excepting the essential oils providing the scent profiles.  Finally, tend to lather a little thicker than most using more soap and less distilled water - of course your experience may differ.

Thanks for the helpful response. Results always vary but in my mind I need to know somewhat how these items stack up against each other in various qualities to identify which product I want...or may need to use on any given occasion. Thanks

I feel that donkey milk imparts slight increase in the lather density. What DanLaw calls cushion I call visibly creamier lather Smile It is more apparent. Slickness is nearly the same across bases. But the post shave varies. I'm starting to notice that some people prefer one base over the based on their skin type.

Based on how quickly the tallow soaps flew off the shelf yesterday, I'm guessing there few vegans in the crowd Smile
