Be careful... Next thing you know, you'll be popping for one of those Blackland Sabre's.

I absolutely love mine. It is a little bit on the mild side but it is still extremely efficient. It took me a little bit to get used to it and it's all I have used since.

Shane is also a really nice guy. It's good to see the two of you hook up. I bet between the two of you, lots of great things can happen.

I love seeing 2 genius artisans meeting up to talk shop. These two have done wonders for the Shave world and i look forward to many more purchases from both of their companies. I use my Sabre more than most of my other razors these days and over the past month, each shave has been with one of Mohammad’s soaps. Thanks to both of you!!

I had my first shave today with GroomingDept “Mallard” Duck base Soap. The scent was well crafted, and although gourmand with scents of Chocolate, Vanilla, and Spices wasn’t overly sweet. This is going to be a great scent for the Fall/Winter. The performance was outstanding, tons of cushion and slickness. I had four days of growth and used my Timeless .95 OC with a fresh Gillette Nacet and I achieved a BBS Shave with three passes and some touch up. The residual slickness with this Soap is ridiculous, and became very apparent when I was washing my face after shaving. Very impressive! I followed suit as I had done with Credence and applied the leftover lather to my face while I cleaned up. The post Shave with these Grooming Dept Soaps is like nothing I’ve experienced in the past, my skin is soft and smooth with zero irritation. I’ve always used aftershave splashes in the past, but with these there’s really no need. The shaves I get with Grooming Dept. Soaps are better than those I get with other Soaps in my Den. Soaps that I’ve used for years with what I thought were good results are going to be heading out the door! I’m very impressed and can’t wait to try the Vegan and Tallow bases as well. Keep up the great work!

So happy you're enjoying the soaps. I have an Extrait Parfum-32% concentrate, 15ml bottle of Mallard's scent sitting on my desk. I just take one drop at a time from it Smile

A couple of notes on my experience with the new Grooming Dept tallow and duck formula. Today I shaved with Ambrosia for the first time and choose a more familiar badger brush that would let the lather show it's true color. I let the soap sit uncovered for the last couple days to air out and firm up a bit. I ended up under loading a bit so again the next time I use one of these soaps, I need to remind myself to use more product.

The lather seemed a bit different than the veggie soaps but the farthest I can go with my opinion is that the performance works very well, not only by itself, but also in comparison to what a shaver can buy on the market today. Is it something I will continue to use? Maybe. If I choose to use it or had to use it, I have no doubt I would enjoy it and feel confident that it is a strong performer. It will take more use to understand how to best use it and to see if it is more suitable for my skin than others.

As others have mentioned, you finish your shave and take the cream remaining in the knot and let it sit on the face. It really has a nice ability to carry the hydration and softening effect to the skin on top of being protective. Is Grooming Dept better than most artisan made shave soap on the market? I would say yes but more importantly I think it is quite different than most. Based on the development, it ended up being a formula that uses a lot of different things to do a few important things. I am not one to buy soaps now for scent or because of the complexity of included ingredients. Luckily we have another talented artisan who passionately is loving what he makes and making his best.

Keep up the great work Mohammad and I look forward to more shaves with both formulas. Cheers and stay safe up north with the fires.

I was so blown by the fragrances I smelled at TigerLilly yesterday. Such incredible wide range of fragrances that one doesn't smell from mainstream fragrances!

I was inspired, so at 5:30am I got working on two new scents.

Mallard: Rose, Cardamom, Coconut, Sandalwood, Saffron and Vanilla (A gourmand scent, think the Indian dessert Kulfi)

Amber & Oud (Vegan): Orange, Bergamot, Nutmeg, Coriander, Clove, Olibanum, Amber and Oud
