Recent convert to DE shaving. Started with Merkur 34C, Merkur Open Comb, new Henson aluminum (I love it). Purchased Gillette heritage for my son who got started recently. Awaiting arrival of a Gillette Slim from my birth year and a Merkur Progress. Favorite soaps include Proraso, Tabac, TOBS sandalwood, Speick, and yes, I am a fan of Williams mug! Have only tried 3 blades from my variety pack.

Exactly one year ago today I registered an account on DFS. At that time the world was several months into a pandemic, suffering isolation and shutdown, and there was only a hope that a vaccine would be available. Inspired by one of my sons, I had just taken up traditional shaving. After lurking about for a few weeks, I wanted to participate in the community.

The Henson razor was new a year ago, and impressed by HensonShaving  participation on this board, I just had to get one two myself. How cool is it that Shane at Blackland Razors is so engaging in this community. How beautiful Stubble Daddy  brushes are. Through a DFS passaround in July I discovered my razor soulmate, the Yates 921; DFS BST quickly supplied one for my very own. Jake YatesPrecision answered an email the same day I sent it, and guided me through choosing additional components.

It has been a great year of diving deep into the art of traditional shaving, and I am glad to be part of the DFS community.

I absolutely agree. It is a wonderful community. Some great folks here and wonderful vendors always willing to answer questions and help. Definitely a special place.

We're glad you decided to join us. A lot of what makes it so special is our members, and that definitely includes you.

Such a lovely year in review! Happy2

It's been an unsettling time for most, at least speaking for me for sure. Here's to all of us having the next year be better, to include good shaves!
