Thanks for the replies earlier in my other thread. It is only right that I give myself more time to test the razor and with different blades. I've ony had one razor out of several that I couldn't get along with and had to sell, and that was after 2 or 3 weeks use. I plan to use an Astra SP or Polsilver tomorrow which I think will make a big difference.

I think it the right call as one and done may not give you the full picture. Look forward to hearing how it goes!

I agree with Kevin. There is always time to sell but give yourself some time to make a fair evaluation. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Smile

Your both right. I think I was looking for an excuse to sell it since I bought the Feather. Looking forward to trying it again tonight with an Astra SP.

Hi Hobbyist, I think that is a fair call. You may still find that it isn't for you but you'll know it for certain and won't find yourself wondering later if you should give it another go and buy it again. I hope you find a winning combination of blade to razor that you like.

I may have given the wrong impression in your other thread about the AS-D2 - I love it and I'm reasonably confident you will too. I think we aren't always speaking the same language when we describe a razor's performance using words like mild and aggressive. Leisure Guy has his terminology which I like. I wouldn't say the AS-D2 is mild, its a very efficient cutter of whiskers but I would say its comfortable (I use it exclusively with the Feather blade) and that can lead to perhaps not giving it the respect it deserves. I know for a fact that its capable of cutting me at least.
Enjoy
Mark

Completely agree. I try to shy away from mild/aggressive and speak in terms of efficiency. I am coincidentally using the ASD2 this week. Because it has minimal blade gap and exposure you do have to get the angle right but when you do it is a great shaver.

I shaved with the 102 last night using ang Astra SP and I did not get any nicks or cuts. It was night and day than the Kai which I find to be nearly as sharp as a Feather but smoother. I enjoyed the shave but it was still a bit rough on my neck, which is my problem area. I will use it again tonight and see how smooth it is on a 2nd shave on the same blade which I usually find is smoother.

I will use a Feather blade in the AS-D2 first and then try a Kai. I know a member on another forum who uses a Kai in it with just as good of results. I prefer the Kai because it lasts much longer for me and is smoother.
