Hey folks,is there anyone who would care to comment on GG soaps? My current favs are CRSW,Dapper Dragon,Stirling and WSP.In your honest opinion how does GG stand up in performance to those brands?I am considering picking up their Aventus type if anyone has that scent in their stash, how close did they get to the scent profile and how strongly scented is it?

Thanks Roger

I can tell you that people report the scent is spot on. Her soaps are equivalent to the others you mention.

Hey Roger, wish I could offer more insight but GG is another line that I haven't gotten around to trying yet.

Look forward to the feedback in your thread though as I have heard good things!

No experience with the Tallow, and the only scent I've tried is Oakmoss, because I won a sample in a PIF. As far as performance, Mama Bear's was at the top of my M&P base glycerin soaps...until Ginger's Garden. I think some of the extra oils she uses make it just a little bit better. I don't think you'll have any performance issues with any of Irena's soaps based on my one sample and what I've heard. I'm also curious about the Aventus scent. Executive Man has become my wife's favorite scent, and she's been wanting me to get some cologne. We're not willing to spend Creed prices, so I've been considering trying some Ginger's Garden instead.

Unless you buy the glycerin soap she makes, the soap is not melt & pour. She rebatches them to add the scent profile. It takes more time, but it's worth it.

GET.....HER.....AFTERSHAVE BALM. That sheet is amazing. The soap is good too. Her regular aftershaves are great for winter, but I don't use them in the warmer months because they go on kinda tacky, but they smell fantastic. I have Suede (Her top seller) and Havana Cognac.

I have the tallow in Havana Cognac. Very pleased. I would give the Cold River performance an edge over almost any soap. But I would put in on the same tier as others you mentioned.

I am a big fan of Gingers Garden. I have several of her shaving soaps, shaving creams and aftershaves. All are great, IMO. Very good scents. She will make custom scents fior you as well (if you cannot find what you want from her already incredibly long stock scent list).

With respect to her aftershaves, someone mentioned above that they go on tacky. In my experience, they just need to be rubbed in as they have way more viscosity and moisture than a typical splash. If you just pat or wipe it on, then it will stay tacky; if you rub it in just a little bit, my experience is that your face will feel smooth, not tacky and well hydrated regardless of season.

As someone stated abive, her standard shave soap is not a melt and pour (although she offers that glycerin type of soap too).

With respect to her shaving cream, this is a true very soft cream--not a croap.

A very underrated wet shave artisan in my book.

Does anyone know what are the main differnces between ginger's garden formulations?I mean which considered to be the best, the cream the glycerin or the tallow version?
Also how's the fougere fern in terms of scent?
Ginger's garden is on the strong side of scent or the mild?
Thank you!
