I've seen two online sources for the Gillette Swedes. One is on Westcoastshaving.com. It is 100 blades for $44.00. ( https://www.westcoastshaving.com/product...9gQAvD_BwE ) Westcoast shaving indicates that these are Swedes, but made in the St. Petersburg plant.

The other site is Bullgoose Shaving ( https://bullgooseshaving.com/products/gi...-50-blades ). Bullgoose shaving is 50 Swede blades for $22.00. These also state that they are from the St. Petersburg plant.

Are either of these legit Swedes?

I have no idea about whether they are “Swedes” as I’ve never tried the originals. I do like the blades though - very smooth with enough sharpness. I’ve bought them on eBay for about half the price you’ve listed.

I was lucky enough to snag about 500 Platinums for about $6 per 100.
My daily driver blade....a solid workhorse. Cuts clean and smooth. Only
a Pol or a Wizzie gives me more shaves per blade.

I believe these are the ones they ended up calling 'The Swedes' back in the old days. Correct me if I'm wrong.

So are the Gillette Platinum White the same as the Swedes?

Thank You.

Sorry for going off topic but Ive actually purchased legit Pol Silvers from this site when there was no shortage.

https://www.polsilver-blades.com

Recently I checked their prices for Pols (the ones pictured) and I could have sworn it was US$175 for 250 blades.

Looking at it yesterday the price is now $80 for 250 but the product name says 'Wizamet Super Iridium'

It's confusing....are they selling the actual PolSilver branded blades for $80 (250)? If so that's a hell of a price drop.

Or are they selling the same blades that Wizashave sells for $49 (250) and pricing them at $80 (250)?

I have been told by several sources that the blades shown are considered to be the same as the older Swedes.

These blades along with the the Pols, Wizzies, Feathers, and Blacks are my favorites. These blades give me 3 sublime shaves (Feather being the exception as 2 & done). I haven’t experienced the old Swedes, but the new Platinums remind me of the vintage made in England Platinums (super smooth).

It's purely speculation on my part, but my guess is that it's the latter. I bought Polsilvers from him before they became scarce, but he was one of the first people to bump the prices of Polsilvers sky-high. If you placed an order, my guess is that you'll get Wizamet. (The weird thing, though, is that he has to break open Wizamet tucks of 10 in order to sell 125.)

Bringing this back to the Gillette Platinum "Whites", they are a tiny bit less comfortable in some of my razors than Wizamets, but they are solid performers.
