So I have just seen something interesting, an advert for Gillettes new ProShield razor.

At the end of the advert there is a shot with the razor in it but next to it is a few familiar items, shaving brush, shaving soap in a wooden bowl and I think possibly more but I didn't see.

I will see if I can get a screen shot.

It's interesting because in the UK it's very unusual to see these items in Gillette adverts but I am sure that's the case in every country.

I haven't seen this advert, yet, Oli. I'll keep a lookout.

Very interesting to see a nod to traditional wet shaving. There's rumours of a new tech for AOS stores coming soon too. Maybe that's a foreshadowing?

Well done, Oli. I saw it last night during the Transporter 2 film, but I never had my phone with me.

Thanks, Oli.  Besides the soap and brush, did you notice that it is basically still a Fusion blade but it seems to have a top and bottom lubrication strip.  They'll charge a lot more for what amounts to same ol', same ol'.  It looks like something that might tie into their Art of Shaving stores so folks will spend a lot more money for nothing special.

Thanks for nothing, Gillette.  If you don't mind, I shall stick with your wonderful vintage razors which are reasonably inexpensive to purchase (with some exceptions), use blades that are dirt cheap, and, when vintage razor and DE blade are combined, offer up a much better shave experience than any Fusion.  At least that's my $0.02 worth. Winking

By the way, for the first time, I noticed an advert for it in today's newspaper coupon supplement.
