Yes, it is an OVERT ad for the corny lube strips. But I think more importantly is the COVERT advertising for the older style of shaving ie soap/brush. This is to prep the consumer for the release of the retro ball tech that may have already happened. This was supposed to happen at the AOS stores.

I have shaved with a cart and brush and cream since 1996.

Why should one thing exclude the other, just because what you see in a freakin' commercial done by moronic empty headed advertising humans ?

I shave my head with carts - Fusion, Fusion Proglide and Fusion Proshield.
I also often shave my face with one for the first pass, then a DE for the rest.

My take on them.

Old Fusion felt better and lasted slightly longer - 10-12 shaves for me, stropping the carts after each shave.
Fusion Proglide 8-10 shaves, stropping the cart.

Proshield ? Only used it 5 for shaves and still seems ok. The lubrication was excessive for the first shave and the following shave, then fortunately went away.

Proshield is a VERY sharp blade, Fusion Proglide a tiny bit less sharp, the regular Fusion less sharp, but more smooth.

I enjoy them all, but overall prefer the old orange Fusion cart.

Thanks for nothing, Gillette.  If you don't mind, I shall stick with your wonderful vintage razors which are reasonably inexpensive to purchase (with some exceptions), use blades that are dirt cheap, and, when vintage razor and DE blade are combined, offer up a much better shave experience than any Fusion.  At least that's my $0.02 worth. Winking

We'll hang on now Freddy I like my vintages ... But I seem to have been bitten by the modern safety razors too ... With all the options between classic and modern safety razors out there I am enjoying every shave now and seem to be feeding the addiction Wink

My theory Claus, is that P&G would not miss a chance to market a product, this includes their own shave gel. If they show show a fleeting glimpse of a brush and shave soap, this would seem they are priming the market for the re-release of their ball tech through their AOS store. There are millions of dollars tied up in questionnaires and focus groups along with filming and marketing. So I dont think its so empty-headed.

I realise this is a UK ad and something I havent seen stateside so I dont know why they are showing it there and not here, unless UK is a test market for the reaction of the brush/soap...

Some of the newer safety razors are great, Aaron, and I didn't word my response too well. I use a Fusion sometimes when I travel but I am just never as satisfied with the shave as I am with a traditional DE or SE (vintage or modern). Again, this is just me and I know others have a different point of view.
