It's good that I've found this thread because I'm quite surprised with the performance of these Silver Blue blades. Last two shaves were with one of them and they have me an incredibly smooth shave. This said, I was using an Eufros soap and just to make sure whether it had something to do with it, it is my intention to test them thoroughly with other soaps, because they're likely to become my go-to blades. Others give a closest shave (Feathers or Gillette Sharp Edge) but none, to date, has surpassed them in the effectiveness-smoothness equation.

I will be taking a look at the GSBs since I just received a 100 pack in the mail. Currently, the Personna Lab Blue and Gillette 7 O'Clocks are the blades I like the best. Had a great shave today on the 3rd use of a 7 O'Clock this morning -- better than the 1st or 2nd use, but used Le Pere Lucien today, so I can't be sure that wasn't a factor.

I'll have to swing by Walgreens and see if my area has the platinums.

The modern Made in Russia Gillette Platinum & their Rubie Plainum Plus are the two best modern blades extant. Of course, what many fail to realize is that your prep, cream/soap & type of brush used can greatly affect the cutting ability of a blade. You cannot objectively test one blade against another when you are changing umpteen variables at once. As well, many will dismiss a blade because they got irritation with an ATG pass. No kiddin'? Rolleyes There isn't one dermatologist in the country that recommends shaving ATG unless he/she is being paid to advertise something. You don't file something going against the "grain" of the teeth as you get "chatter".
Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

YMMV in action again, as neither of those blades works for me at all. The Rubie in particular seems to react very badly with my skin, regardless of prep.

I generally have no issues with irritation on an ATG pass, unless I get careless with my technique or use a blade longer than I should.
