I tried a new vendor today, Gentlemen’s Nod, specifically
the Sir Winston soap and aftershave. I will tell you with the utmost sincerity that I new favorite soap. I have tried nearly 100 soap over the past 7 or 8 years and Gentleman’s Nod now sits at the top of my favorite list. The lather I produced today was like yogurt, slick and maximum cushion. The glide of my Carbon razor (with a Feather blade to boot) through the soap left a BBS shave with zero weepers. The post shave feel was extraordinary! In addition, the aftershave was just as exceptional!! Great absorption (I hate sticky aftershaves and their formula definitely leaves no residue) and a scent that is second to none (it is a beautiful interpretation of Penhaligon’s Blenheim Bouquet). I am hooked! Please give them a shot if you haven’t done so already.

You might want to add that it is available through BullGoose and that this soap will be available on 9/10 at 9 PDT along with Sir Arthur, a fougere. Otherwise, I agree that Gentleman's Nod is top notch. I have Vincent in the prior formula and it really is a nice soap. I love the scent.

You are right...my apologies. I purchased this at the makes store in Omaha and didn’t realize until the day after my post that the “Sir” scents were only available through Bullgoose. Thanks for responding and expanding in my post.

That's interesting that you found this soap base so good. I'll need to give it another shot.

I snagged the Zaharoff collaboration a few months ago. I found the base to be airy and lacking in moisture. Maybe it was just me so I'll give it another shot. I like the scent of the soap so kept it. I did find the soap just fine for DE shaving, but not the best for me when using a SR. Like I said, maybe just me so I'll give it another shot.

I have Gentleman's Nod Zaharoff Signature soap in my collection and consider it to be among my favorite soaps (of which there are many). When I purchased it, I wondered if it was worth the $29 price. It was. I have been waiting to add another Cardinal base soap to my collection. Now I have to decide between Sir Winston and Sir Arthur. I was leaning toward Sir Winston, but I just learned that lemon is the leading scent note. My skin is rather sensitive to lemon, so I guess I will go with the Sir Arthur.

There is lemon indeed but you won’t be disappointed by Sir Arthur. It is a classic green fern Fougere that smells just like Penhaligon’s English Fern. Amazing scent.

Agreed! I found this soap lacking slickness. Had good density and Zaharoff is a good scent... but the slickness was poor. So much so that I used it on three other occasions, and then reached out to some people i trust, and they also had similar experience. Great density though.

The Sir Arthur showed up in yesterday's mail. However, my wife will not allow me to open it to check the scent. My birthday is next week, so she won't let me open it before then.
